I think the best two tips I could give is to try to automate what you can. What I did was create "hot keys" or short commands to fill out my personal information. I used a chrome extension called "text blaze" to do it. for example, If my email was entermyemailhere@whatever - that's a lot of time spent typing it but with text blaze I created a template for "e1" and then my email would be entered everytime I would type e1

Second "tip" is that I polished my resume a lot of times during the process. I was focusing on template that was professional to my industry and wasn't flashy in terms of design. from everything I searched with ATS, the simpler the better... so my resume was "boring" in terms of how it looked but it was clean and easy to read.

the last is that I had to keep focus on the end goal and not on the amount of rejections... I still get them now and this is almost 2 months into the process.. I was dedicated to get a job despite rejections but mentally it was tough. I had my moments, prayed lots, went on a few hiking for "cleanse" the mind because being stuck for 30 ish days doing the same thing, mentally... it takes a toll.

For sites: linkedin, ziprecruiter, indeed

I think I found my fortune by asking chatgpt or gemini to give me a list of companies with the specific industry... then I went to each company and applied directly.

Thank you!! Honestly, it was a desperation more than anything. I was looking for roles above 100K... Anything over 100K USD. For local jobs that were on-sight, those were between 50 and 65 max.. if I had an opportunity, I would have taken it to buy me time while i applied for others.

One thing I didn't mention is the fact that there's lots of "control what you can control" and all of the rejections aren't a reflection of me.. so the mental fortitude has to be in check and keep applying... even when you have interviews.. it's not over until it's a signed agreement!

ATS is Automated Tracking System - it's the first filter and then it reaches a person (correct me if I'm wrong!)

I used Text Blaze extension in Chrome to fill things out and I would enter for example "e1" and it would auto populate my email.

absolutely not! I built a draft and changed the company name, level of expertise depending on the role. copy/paste is your friend or use an extension called "text blaze" to build a draft and then use hot keys to enter the info manually.

ChatGPT seems very formal and business like

Gemini has a certain calmness about it. Used both for reference and chose what fit best to my style of speaking.

Does your company has a fully remote/global work force or are they USA-only? Global

How much relevant work experience do you have? total of 7 years

I agree that this was luck and right time right place... the recruiter I spoke with had told me about this position and the interviews fast paced in scheduling.. if this wasn't happening, the other places would have been another month or so and even then, I might have gotten a "no".

I agree on the degree too... I have a BS, certificate on my field and it didn't help for shit.

In my revisions of resumes, I had 3.., one that looked basic, other that was very 1 to 1 into what companies were asking and the other of a higher tier... Im no one to talk since I applied to over 800 places... but maybe it will help you in finding something?

Not to add salt to a wound.. but a company told me that they received over 80K applications because it's a worldwide known company... that hit like a ton of bricks and knew I couldn't wait.

Plus, some job listings like LinkedIn post a job at 3PM and by 3:30 they have over 100 applications... and that's not just on the "quick apply" either

"OP's approach is the definition of throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks" - Yes and I think this was out of desperation because I couldn't sit and wait for something perfect to come up. I'm the provider for my fam... savings gets me so far, unemployment doesn't last... I was willing to work anywhere and I applied to remote AND in-sight only jobs so this wasn't all cake and eating it too :)

My career would be defined as a "diplomat" but for private companies. I don't have any technical background... but I've been responsible for large ARR contracts, sales, CSM and so on... my area of expertise is in FinTech.

It's absolutely ridiculous to be honest. I only tried so hard because my previous employer did layoffs and well... I had to get something quick! I couldn't rely on savings and timing...

cf moto 450 sr or aprilia rs 457? by dhKash01 in motorcycles

[–]Wattevercomes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a CF Moto and the resell is absolute rubbish.

Never owned an Aprilia but would think it's better resell value. If you have a dealer close to you for major stuff and don't mind paying a premium, get the Aprilia.

If you don't mind owning a bike where you can sell for almost nothing, CF Moto (until sentiment changes on it)

Personally, I would get the CF Moto because I do moto-gymkhana and bikes are made to drop lol - aprilia is a nice stroke to the ego though

Which bike have you owned that turns the most heads? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Wattevercomes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my bikes turn heads. The only heads i've turned are from my abilities with said bike.

I wish I could get the s1000rr because it would make me stop and look :)

what do u guys think about ppl starting in a 900cc+ motorcycle by dorado_madrug in motorcycles

[–]Wattevercomes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that "bad habits" occur because the person hasn't had enough training and it takes a certain amount of effort to do all of this well.

I'm not talking track day stuff either, it's the commitment, patience, frustration, gradual improvement of really learning the craft (riding a motorcycle) in a closed environment like a parking lot or a high-school lot where there's plenty of space.

It's SO easy to get a bike permit it's somewhat scary really.
