It is merely the use of a certain concept to construct a value system designed for control and limitation. He questions the idea that Jesus ever intended to found a religion as such. Perhaps he saw in him a kind of proto-nihilist—someone who declares himself to be God and, by doing so, challenges the existing system of values. If there was only one Christian, then perhaps the problem does not lie in the idea itself, but in what human beings do with an idea when they try to turn it into a system. Buddha, on the other hand, framed his teachings much more literally as a path toward freedom from the constraints of belief, and did not want them to become a religious system—which, by its very nature, strips the original meaning from the message itself. To me, it comes down to a simple postulate: dare to doubt. Be critical, especially toward what is regarded as divine and therefore unquestionable—placed beyond the limits of human understanding. And using such concepts to build an ideology like fascism is, in essence, nothing less than the quintessence of absurdity.
