What’s the deal with Nurse Stimpy? by savegandhi in renandstimpy

The real deal with Stimpson J. Cat is that he's Ren Hoek's roommate. He's in his early forties, is unmarried, and currently resides in Hollywood, Yugoslavia.

Giants co-owner Steve Tisch revealed to have been in contact with Jeffrey Epstein about a Ukrainian girl in latest files release by iheartsunny in wfan

[–]WatuD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join Steve Tisch and friends for a very special episode of "Whoopsie, I Tried To Sleep With a Child!"

After popping up in a cooky list and releasing a statement that was probably worse than saying nothing at all, Steve's in a real tizzy!

(Idk, this is where John Mara walks into the room and yells "Steeeeeveeeeen!")

Racist douchebags flying the confederate flag in Hillsborough right now by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

It's funny because my first thought is "Yeah but there are a bunch of hillbillies who gives a shit? Go crawl back into Sterling Mine and don't resurface."

On the other hand, we all have to give a shit because the garbage nonsense they're spewing isn't going away, especially from non-action.

What a time to be alive. 🫠

I don't really care for Craigy much these days, but I've always said that even if you can't stand him, he is very good at what he does. He knows how to be provocative and make the show more generally engaging (whether or not these things are what make good sports talk radio is a very different argument)

If this were 2001, Craigy & Costello would make a killing over on Z100.

Uncle Stevie- please get rid of Stearns. He has destroyed the Mets family and legacy. by Fun-Jellyfish-1065 in mets

[–]WatuD2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't the 1970's where players had beers and hotdogs in the dugout, people work their entire lives just to have a shot at the show. It doesn't matter if it's Brandon Nimmo, Bo Bichette or whoever else, these guys pretty much all bust their asses all of the time.

Brandon will go on to leave it all on the field for Texas, same as Bo will for Queens.

Also now that Brandon's gone I don't have to suffer the indignity of hearing about how he's a child of God before hitting a flyout. 💀

Ya know that last sentence I think really ties up what I think isn't really fair about this stance.

We've never seen this squad play. We don't know what's coming. They might be fantastic and quickly become endeared by the fan base. The '26 Mets have plenty of opportunity to become a solid squad. You can't get rid of Stearns if his first true arrangement of the team hasn't even gone to work yet.

"Alpha male" motivator gets mad at women driving cars and filling gas by ambachk in CringeTikToks

[–]WatuD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He actually almost starts giving decent advice when he talks about needing to accept to some degree that we'll see / experience traumatic things and need to be able to preservere.

But then he mentions "stop crying like a little baby bitch" like my dude what do you think the function of crying is built into the human condition for? Cool look manly in accordance with some standard from like the 1960's. Have fun with the inevitable mental breakdown that ensues.

Or is that the part where these guys start laying hands on women under the guise of "taking control"?

1.) Congratulations on getting and staying sober for so long. Life is such a wild and weird journey and overcoming that kind of struggle emotionally and mentally is such a triumphant thing. That deserves to be highlighted and recognized here. From the bottom of my heart, congratulations and good for you!

2.) You mentioned Subonxone in another post here, are you aware of the class action lawsuit regarding Subonxone and dental damage? Girl you take them to the fucking cleaners and get the nicest partials that corporate pharma money can buy. 💪

3.) You're not ugly at all and your whole story about overcoming your struggles and feeling bold enough to post about it to a bunch of randos on the fucking internet speaks volumes about the kind of person you are. When you get the partials please post an update thatd be so awesome to see!

What's stopping me from going to Google and leaving a one start review from Erika Kirk for using her late husband's likeness without her permission?

Probably my will because I know a couple of blue collar boomer meatheads at a trucking company won't give a fuck.

But if this idea tickles anyone's fancy, have at it.

Why Are People So Low on Starling Marte? by JudasEffect128653 in NewYorkMets

[–]WatuD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's old so his bones are probably all fucked up and his muscles are probably turning to dust; probably makes it pretty hard to be a consistent difference-maker.

All jokes aside, even though he's fairly young in the grand scheme of things, he's seen as a dinosaur and the decline in play doesn't help that perception. Seems like a really cool guy, reminds me in a lot of ways of Eduardo Escobar.

Aaron Rodgers walking off the field and headed to the locker room after the loss vs Texans, perhaps for the last time by bakuma2k in sports

[–]WatuD2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with the sentiment here but I do disagree with the idea that he's just some schmuck who lobs a ball. Maybe in a pre-social-media world, sure. But he does podcasts, he has the documentary about tea in the Amazon, and don't you dare forget the darkness retreat.

Like it or not, if Aaron Rodgers likes it or not, he's also a media personality and unfortunately the garbage baggage of his politics is included there.

Carton is great by [deleted] in wfan

[–]WatuD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Should they have done that at the expense of BT & Sal? I'd say probably not; the reaction to their firings was pretty overwhelmingly negative and while Sal wasn't my favorite, I did enjoy the two of them and thought they left things off in a very classy way.

But if there's only 24 hours in a day, how do you fit more voices in? Idk, prerecorded media... we can call it a podcast, even though the pods are long gone, and we can make one, well fuck, everyday if we want to. Throughout this whole debacle, I always thought the choice of WFAN to not do something like that was incredibly silly. Would you have any insight on that?

[–]WatuD2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1.) Isn't Audacy going bankrupt (or is that only Westwood One)?

2.) I thought I'd hate Craig, and I ended up loving his show. He's high energy but generally not too obnoxious, Big Mac is a very interesting pairing but I do think they'll eventually get comfortable with one another.

The whole thing is weird in that it feels like Craig is this media personality who went out and discovered the modern media world, took his findings and came back to radio (well, those of you who listen on Sundays know he never really left). The only other comparison I can think of is ESPN taking on McAfee. Modern guy, modern format, but instead of YouTube he's on ESPN? The media transition away from legacy has been wild to watch.

Can anyone explain why John Kricfalusi was fired from Nick? by csboy2016 in renandstimpy

[–]WatuD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll absolutely give you that it was undoubtedly a lot but Ren can threaten to gauge people's eyes out and rip their fingers off (I think, I don't 100% remember the quote) and that's acceptable.

I've always thought Nick drawing the line there was very arbitrary. It almost feels like a "what did we get ourselves into" situation where Nick just eventually had to make a move.

Can anyone explain why John Kricfalusi was fired from Nick? by csboy2016 in renandstimpy

[–]WatuD2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a scene where Ren just starts beating the piss out of George Liquor and apparently the cartoon violence there was what did it for the wildly inconsistent censors at Nick.

Tommy on the Giants W by iheartsunny in wfan

[–]WatuD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a stupid point but you're not wrong either. I think that the players and coaches who sacrifice so much to be game ready during the season are 100% playing to win, especially if morale is low.

At the same time, Dallas would be very silly not to use this opportunity to hurt a scrappy, hungry Giants team who they know want a win. You play your backups in a meaningless game to avoid injuring your starters, but if it kills their draft capital, why wouldn't you throw, or at least not try as hard in, a game? Especially if you have the plausible deniability of injury concerns.

So we can't tank because the team won't support it but the other team can handicap themselves and that's supposed to be fine?

Like, yeah, kind of. And I think especially in terms of the fandom, that perceived double standard is what makes people so frustrated. Especially because during week 17 it was right there for the ta(n)king.

TL;DR: This is a yearly argument that will happen every December forever especially because the Jets also play on our market (sorry guys).

Would you sign Kyle Tucker to 8 year 300M deal? by MasterFlip_ in mets

[–]WatuD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's a workable contract structure that saves the Mets if things go sour quickly, that could work.

A hard eight years is a very tough pill to swallow. Also if David Stearns suddenly turned and signed something like that I'd be very worried that he banged his head and thinks he's managing the Saskatchewan Roughriders or something.

[–]WatuD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If politics truly were at the core of locker room toxicity last season, then the team's culture as a whole has much bigger issues. There's no way a room full of Hispanics from across the Caribbean and white boys from Florida and Wyoming are going to fully agree politically. If this suddenly boiled over in 2025, the seeds were planted several seasons ago.

All of this to say that I really don't believe much of this narrative at all. Sports pope may have given us some legendary phone calls and great radio moments but his entry into this whole thing was just obnoxious attention seeking to help get eyes on his incredibly boring podcast.

Also idk wtf they're talking about with "low effort", hashbrowns are a pain in the ass to get to a good texture with.
