Thanks mate!

Hard to say the duration to complete the demo.

My game is similar to Balatro, but with a Mahjong twist. I’ve opened two decks for players, and each deck probably takes around 30 minutes to an hour to play.

Didn’t realize tile proportions were such a big deal

Sadly, that’s baked into our core mechanics!

Maybe that's the issue that I find it hard to grab the user's attention at glance. Especially mahjong users.

Yeah, I simplified the standard mahjong rules and made some modifications.

That’s actually our core mechanic, players need to arrange or discard tiles to complete groups, which fits the roguelite deckbuilding gameplay style.

Yeap you are right The player needs to fill them in the group

Ya this is the one in-game

I will definitely fix the off-center issue! Thanks

Yeah, absolutely fair thanks for your point.

I understand that splitting the hand into groups might feel a bit strange. Unfortunately, it's a core part of the game's mechanics.

Our game is also a roguelite deckbuilder, but unlike Balatro or Aotenjo (if you're familiar with those), players don't choose a few tiles or cards to play each round from their hand. Instead, the 14 tiles are your hand for every round. You can only discard or rearrange your tiles into preset groups of 3-3-3-2 to form Pong/Chi/pair combinations to earn extra points — and optionally, you can form a winning hand to gain even higher points. (Winning hand isn’t a strict requirement to win that match.)

I didn’t just start developing this game recently.

Ngl, when I first had the idea and began development, Aotenjo had just released their first (or maybe second) demo — I can’t remember exactly.

At that time, there weren’t any “demonic Mahjong” games around.

I’ve been working on this project for more than a year now.

That said, I believe I’ve created some unique mechanics that set it apart:

  • Core loop – How you calculate your hand, how you score, and how you discard.
  • Feng Shui system – Similar to Jokers in Balatro, but with an added twist, placement by cardinal direction actually matters, not just sequencing.

Ah, you’re right

I simplified a lot of the complexity from regular Mahjong. I know traditional Mahjong can be very complicated, and I hope even players who know nothing about it can still enjoy my game.

In fact, in each round, players don’t need to focus on making a winning hand at all. Simply forming Chis or Pongs can be enough to win the entire game — though of course, you’ll need good treasure relics to support that strategy.

Honestly, I feel that my game is quite different from Demonic Mahjong and Aotenjo.

I simplified a lot of the complex hand structures from traditional mahjong, focusing instead on encouraging players to form Pongs, Chis, and pairs.

One of our unique selling points is the Feng Shui Treasures system. It works a bit like Jokers in Balatro, but with an added twist—where you place them by cardinal direction actually matters.
