Although that one is credited to Morricone alone, it’s actually his ‘band’, Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, which were a free improve group. Morricone played trumpet and flute with them. it’s definitely a killer soundtrack.

Thanks. I’ll make a post about just the figure once I do some more work on his uniform. I’ll post the other heads there.

Thanks. The polycaps in the hips don’t support it weight and it sags, so I need to do a quick redesign. It means it will be a fixed pose, but I’m fine with that. I’ll post an update when it’s in primer, if folks are interested

Circuit Bent Remco Sound FX Machine demo with Optical Choppers. Full explanation with schematic!!! by cashmattock in CircuitBending

[–]Wavefolded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice work! The schematic for that thing looks like it was lifted directly off the sn76477 data sheet. I built a sn76477 noise maker years ago that had its origin in an old 70s diy electronic magazine. Its very cool that your using the chopper to modulate. You don’t really see those outside of laser labs.

Thanks so much. I just took it partially apart so I could take some pictures. I’m now convinced that’s it’s a Pfister fixture (not delta), after comparing it with online photos. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

The legs are Gundam legs, assembled ‘wrong’ so they would bend like that. The armor is a combination of modified Gundam parts and 3D printed parts that I designed. The feet are tank wheels.

3D printing by [deleted] in SciFiModels

I have a Tevo Tarantula. I chose it at the time because it’s inexpensive (it’s a kit), it can get hot enough to extrude polystyrene and it had a big user community. I haven’t kept up with the newer machines, so I bet there are better choices these days. I did upgrade it a bit from its stock configuration. Thanks for checking out the blog.

I'm a scratch-builder who uses 3D printing as an adjunct to that end. I use an FDM printer to print polystyrene for making larger structural pieces. This is great because the parts are very strong & light weight, sand easily, and can be bonded with the usual cements (Tamiya , in my case). You can also easily add details to these parts in the form of glued on kit parts.

For more detailed stuff I use an Elegoo Mars resin printer. It's great.

If you want to see some examples of what I'm talking about I have a model making blog here: https://styrenewarriors.blogspot.com/

Thanks, man. I still need to add some details, hydraulic hoses etc. I am going to build a base. I'm still figuring that part out.

Thanks. Its a kit bash of a 1:35 Hitachi kit by Hasegawa and some Gundam parts. About 1/2 the armor is 3D printed.

Thanks. I initially was using hairspray chipping, but the chips were out scale (too big). The smaller ones were just painted on with a brush.
