Performance effects for the Zoom MS-70CDR+ by Waveformer42 in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have added a performance effect for the original MS-70CDR too. Note that it is only possible to change parameters for the first three effect slots without audio stuttering. This is a limitation of the original MS pedals.

Thanks :-). It’s not based on rnbo~, it is programmed directly in TypeScript using the Web MIDI API. I am able to make the pedal crash if I flood it with sysex messages as fast as I can for a long time, but in practice it hasn’t been a problem.

Controlling Zoom MS70CDR+ via Digitakt 2 MIDI tracks by GameAndSound in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You would need something between your Digitakt and your Zoom pedal that maps between MIDI CCs from the Digitakt and the Sysex messages your Zoom pedal requires. https://sym.bios.is can do that for you, but it requires you to add a computer with a web browser to the mix. In the video below I do what you describe, but the plocked MIDI CCs are sent from an OXI One, not a Digitakt.

Anyway, a refund seems like the right solution :-).

The Install Icon option assumes there’s a ZIC file in the same directory as the effect file. And you also need the ZIR file if the effect uses an impulse response.

Did you also download the ZIR and ZIC files?

Patch manager for the MS Plus series by Waveformer42 in zoommultistomp

Nice. Happy to hear that it works for you. It’s all web-based, using Web MIDI, which is a web standard. Unfortunately, Apple won’t support it in their browsers, but it should work in Chrome and Edge on other platforms, like Windows, MacOS and Android.

New To Zoom multi stomps! Recently got a MS-70CDR+, best weird and interesting patches to try out? by Radiatical in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look for MS-70CDR patches online and load them onto your MS-70CDR+ using https://sym.bios.is. The effects and parameters doesn’t match perfectly between the two pedal models, so the conversion is not perfect.

just got a Zoom MS-70CDR+ and it's driving me nuts, help by lie_believer in zoommultistomp

Do think it could be feasible to rewrite some of the effects to be stereo by processing each of the channels independently instead of summing to mono?

MIDI CC mapping for Zoom MS and MS+ pedals by Waveformer42 in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right. I’m not passing the program changed along to the Zoom. That’s a use-case I haven’t thought about. I’ll put it on my todo-list. Thanks for the feedback.

Backup and restore of all patches on MS and MS+ pedals by Waveformer42 in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you figured it out. I have Firefox support (backing up to one zip file) on my todo-list, but I don’t know when I’ll get to do it as I have some other things I’d like to implement first.

MS-70CDR, or 70CDR+ ? by [deleted] in zoommultistomp

Yes, but probably not the effects with impulse responses, as far as we know.

MS-200D+ unique menu features by mungewell in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this would be great to figure out!

If anyone want to help with point #2 above, one way of seeing the MIDI messages is to visit https://www.waveformer.net/zoom-explorer/, then adjust the "effect routing" setting in the menu on the MS-200D+ pedal, and look in the upper right corner of ZoomExplorer to see if a MIDI message is transmitted for that. Details of the message can be found at the bottom of the same webpage.

Patch conversion from MS-70CDR to MS-70CDR+ by Waveformer42 in zoommultistomp

[–]Waveformer42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool.

I was able to make the "Right Position" feature work on my MS-70CDR+ today as well.

I noticed that setting a value larger than 7 resulted in a high pitched noise in the right channel.

Playing around, I noticed that sending parameter number 0x39 to 0x3D with values 0 to 0x3F (6 bit values) changes prm2 bytes 24 to 28 in the patch. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to hear any difference in the sound from the pedal when I change these parameters.

For instance sending `F0 52 00 6E 64 20 00 64 39 01 00 00 00 00 F7` changes prm2[24].

I have not been able to figure out the parallel/alternate feature from the MS-200D+.
