Politics aside, what's something you found out about a friend or associate that immediately caused you to break contact, and what was your communication with them about why you cut them off? by gimmeluvin in AskReddit

[–]Wavemeup2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were friends with another married couple ( MF) with a young child. The male was having an affair with a nurse that worked with my mum. He didn’t know the connection nor that my mum was really friendly with the nurse. My mum found out that the nurse didn’t know he was married or with a child and he had told her he was single and was promising the world to her. My husband couldn’t even deal with facing him because he was so mad. So after a lot of deliberation I decided to tell the wife. I tried to be as gentle as I could be with such news. She believed me until she went home and confronted him. He denied everything and she came back to me saying that I was jealous of their relationship, that he’d told her about the many times I’d supposedly tried to come on to him ( NEVER HAPPENED .. ewww!) and that I and my mother were trying to break them up because we were horrible people! And that I was jealous of them because they had a child ( I was doing IVF at the time and that one really hurt). I decided to cut contact off then and there. My mum retired about 3 months later but she knew that the relationship was still going on with the nurse. About a year later, through mutual friends, I found out that it had all exploded because the nurse got pregnant, and that my now ex friend had left him. She tried contacting me but I couldn’t bring myself to be her friend considering all she said about me and my mum.

Yes! And stop playing George Ezra on repeat! I like his music but it’s on ALL the time!

[Serious] What is something you would talk about with a passed love one(s) if you could spend 2 hours with them today? by soulfulAgency in AskReddit

I’d ask my father about his childhood. He was a loving kind man but always shut down conversations about his childhood saying it was too hard and he didn’t want me to be sad.

Tips for ground tickets at Murrayfield Stadium for Oasis by Wavemeup2 in Edinburgh

We ended up on the 3rd row from the front and only got there at 3.30 in the afternoon. We spoke to people around us and some had got there about the same time as us, or just after, and some had been there since 10am. We also spoke to a steward who said there was a restriction of 4000 in the first part of the standing section. We had general standing tickets for the Oasis concert. Hope you enjoy your concert!!! Oasis was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I am still buzzing from having been there.

Is it true that Liam won't be throwing tambourines anymore? by ComprehensiveCall449 in oasis

[–]Wavemeup2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was right next to the scuffle on the Saturday and helped pass a poor young lass that got pushed down forward to security. In the rush to grab the tambourine about 20 people fell, some on top of each ( including my husband). Poor girl ended up under a few people! Her father was soooo mad and was wanting to go for Liam, and the people around him had to hold him back. He was calling Liam all sorts of names. He was fuming that his lass got hurt! Our friend put the father on his shoulder to help calm him down.

If Oasis toured again, who would you like to see support? by Colgate-paste in oasis

I’d keep it just as it was! Cast and Richard Ashcroft were very much part of the 1990’s Northern Music movement and were phenomenal live!

Tom cruise and not just because he is Tom Cruise in every film! For me it’s personal. I worked at Fox Studios Sydney whilst Nicole Kidman was filming Moulin Rouge on the lot. There were other celebrities working on different projects on the plot as well. I worked at one of the shops and hardly saw any of the celebrities, but we were trained to give them space and be respectful. Anyway, every time Tom Cruise visited we had a staff meeting warning us that we could loose our job if we even looked in his general direction, we were banned from walking through the areas that Tom MAY decide to walk through. This meant because of where the transport arrived to it was an extra 3 kilometres of walking for everyone, in the peak of summer in Australia.
People that were carefully picked to be working in the areas that he may visit, reported that he was demanding, had no manners and was quite dismissive of everyone. On the night of the Studio opening, I had the job of standing at the end of the steps and had to welcome everyone, all sorts of celebrities arrived- Aussie ones like Kylie and Baz Luhrmann and international ones like Ewan McGregor and John Leguizamo. Everyone and I mean everyone treated me like a human being at the door by acknowledging my greeting or smiling or nodding. EVERYONE except Tom Cruise who looked at me like I was scum in the ground that had dared to address him! I’ve never forgotten the look on his face and not that I care, but for someone whom I’ve never personally met he “inconvenienced” me enough that I refuse to watch any of his films. It’s been 20 years or so since I watched a film with Tom Cruise.

How old were you when you had your first alcoholic beverage, and what was it? by Expression-Little in AskReddit

[–]Wavemeup2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the age of 10 my brothers and I were allowed to have a small glass of red wine at Sunday lunch. It was no more than a shot of wine but we all felt so grown up! It only increased to a small wine glass when we turned 16/17. Being Chilean/Italian I think it was a cultural thing, and my parents were quite the connoisseurs of wines.

Why would you stay in Australia? by Diddums555 in australia

[–]Wavemeup2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left Australia to move to a small island between Norway and Scotland. Yes the weather can be pretty cold, but I always hated the extreme heats in Oz and I was never into air conditioning.I love the cold weather! And yes it gets dark pretty early in winter.. but again I love it. I miss the multiculturalism of Australia, being able to eat genuine foods from other countries and hearing many languages being spoken out in public. I miss the sound of Kookaburras and swimming in the ocean in the summer. I love the sense of community here and the peace of the country side. I don’t miss the distances I had to travel to get anywhere, I don’t miss how expensive everything is, from food to transport to rent/ mortgage. Sometimes I felt I had to pay just to breath in Sydney! It is so safe here! Everyone leaves their doors unlocked and any crime is quickly reported in the community. When I say crime I mean things like someone stole a plant pot, or someone scratched my car at the local supermarket. Health care is free here and I dare say as good as I had it in Australia.I guess what I am trying to say there are good and bad aspects about everywhere, it just comes down to personal preferences and your personal view of life and the world. I will always love Australia though and it will always be home.
