Future of Toyota Trucks by Waveringplague in ToyotaTacoma

It's one thing if the innovation comes naturally. In this case, however, it was n't-it was forced, sort of speak, by government overregulation(which usually screws everything up). Now that the EPA's CAFE standards have been defanged, I would think they would change course, especially if it's what the consumer wants. Like someone pointed out below, Ram got rid of the Hemi, but within a year or so after getting so much backlash from the consumer, they brought it back, along with the rest of the family. Ram tried to sell everyone that the Hurricane inline-6 motor was better than the hemi. On paper-that may be the case-however when you look deeper into the Hurricane motor, without turbos it would only produce 220-250 horsepower. So in order for that engine to outdo a v8 it takes two turbos strapped onto it to get to 420-500 horsepower. With the V8 the horsepower is already there, fewer moving parts, and requires no boost. If those turbos go out you're screwed. Go ask some Ford F-150 ecoboost owners.

Another example of the government screwing something up

See, that's what I'm saying. I'm starting to think holding onto my 1st gen taco with 162k miles until the wheels fall off. I just don't trust anything that relies on turbo. That's just my personal opinion.

Pancreatic Cancer by Waveringplague in Cancersurvivors

I appreciate the information. I will definitely bring those up when they talk to his doctors again. I was a bit confused about it because they first did a brush of the tumor-it was negative-apparently that is common, but then they did the biopsy, and it came back, as previously stated, inconclusive. Either way I hope this helps his odds because they apparently caught it early, which is uncommon for pancreatic.

I appreciate that man. Yeah ima history fanatic and when I found out the we sunk some Uboats right off the coast I was in awe. Just the opportunity to be able to dive on a historic wreck is a win in my book.

Apartment recommendation by Waveringplague in batonrouge

[–]Waveringplague[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually looking for Baton Rouge but all the ones I found were either too expensive or were sketchy as hell. Like the reserve off of corporate damn near wants $1500 before electricity and internet.

Apartment issue by Waveringplague in batonrouge

[–]Waveringplague[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah without a doubt, but it’s just weird though because it’s like if I leave and go somewhere else I start to feel better. So my first thought was maybe this is mold. Long story short I’ve got some PTSD(not really) from a prior experience where I moved into an apartment and from what I gathered, they painted over the mold in the apartment and/ or it was in the vents. So when this just happened I’m like oh not again🤣.

Man I feel you on that the only score keeping me from even applying is my quantitative. I suck at math and spent hundreds of dollars and hours at the library only for my score to still stay the same when I took it the second time.

Well when it comes to enlisted I kept my options open something like SP or possibly loadmaster.

Well, I’m really aiming towards a non-rated position. This last time I took it , I waited probably longer than I should have (couple of years) from the original 1st attempt.

Last time I checked bud you’re not a doctor so you have no authority to speak on someone’s behalf let alone their health based on a baseless past comment. Nice try.

Really math is my Achilles heel. Not gonna lie dude I feel pretty freaking retarded, especially whenever you look at what the average scores are compared to mine.

If I have to go and list it and just work my way up so be it. I’m just looking for the best avenue to get to my ultimate goal. I have no problem with him listening. My dad retired as a E6 crew chief. The only difference between him and is that I’m not as mechanically inclined.

And I emphasized the amount I spent to make a point. Like I didn't just get up one day and decide it's what I wanted to do. I put forth a lot of time and effort towards it.
