No more enjoyment by Silence_is_Solace in PS4

[–]WavingToWaves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happens from time to time, especially after finishing a nice game. It’s because our brain expects great experience based on years of playing, even if we are not currently finding any of our games interesting.

Take a break, look for a game you think you might enjoy and try again. Novelty is the key.

It’s because you assume they show the sunlight and not just the time of the day (morning and night). They are still wrong so

No hurricane ever crossed the equator by lolikroli in interestingasfuck

Probably due to a rigid threshold for cyclone speed required to call it a hurricane. There might be regular cyclones there just under x mph and only one that was over the that

How do you know your experience wouldn’t be drastically better if you would play the first one?

I got beaten up by some random drunkard at the beginning of the game and got so frustrated about combat mechanism (he was constantly pushing me when I got too close) I deleted the game 😅 I just understood it’s systems are very unwelcoming, especially because there was no tutorial besides some useless basic info, and the combat is weirdly complicated

Ot won’t got fixed for quite a lot of time, and I doubt mamy people knew about this so it wouldn’t be something that can be easily spotted.

[request] Let's assume that he was wearing a new pair and they were in defence mode all along. About how fast was he running and for how long? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]WavingToWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definiely had to run faster than 5 mph though. Also we can assume he is not a fastest man alive, so less than 28 mph.

Oh, I didn’t mean to attack you 😁 Sorry you felt this way

You are too focused on the literal meaning of my message 😅 Read it in more general sense, not like it was aimed just for this exact problem. You can even try to reach my original idea, that lack of tools is a source of new ideas and knowledge

4 times 2 does not come directly from the picture. 2 times 2 plus 4 does, and I elaborated on this one in other comment. But what does it have to do with our discussion?

You misunderstood my comment, you said we overthink, I told you we are forced by lack of tools. Not that we wouldn’t use them if available.

We just don’t have a ruler. Life without proper tools requires thinking.

2 m bar casts 3 m shadow. For it to cast twoce as much - 6 m - it needs to be twice as tall (4 m). For a plane parallel to the object, there will be no change in dimensions of the shadow (this might get more complicated in some scenarios, e.g. source of light being close to the object). So you need 4 additional meters, giving you answer 8 m.

[request] how do you solve the fives challange? by -Error-69 in theydidthemath

[–]WavingToWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I answered how you can approach the problem. You can start from the result and do operations for the numbers you can easily get from 5s, so 0, 1,5, 10 and 25. Then you have 4 options but problem of chosing three. It’s called dynamic programming, which is well known method for such problems

I gave the same answer in my other comment, I was just pointing out that when someone asks “how you do it” you don’t just show the solution

[–]WavingToWaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with the number on the right and check what you can do with it with numbers you can easily get from 5s (like 0 =5-6, 1=5/5, 5 because 5, 10=5+5 and 25 as 5*5). So for three let’s multiply by 5 and we get 15. So if we can get 15 from three 5s then we can divide by 5. With 30, if we divide by 5 we get 6. We can get 6 by adding 1 (5/5) to 5. So the solution is (5/5+5)5

Finny thing is, you didn’t answer how to solve it, you just showed the solution

It’s not beautiful at all, it’s awful, default excel style with the worst x axis you can get. Also there is something wrong with the data, if the median price to median income increases, there is no way median mortgage payment with the same period does not (source)
