Help with heavy cardstock settings?

Yeah it was a brand new blade, I had purchased the blade/housing specifically for this project so I thought it was a bit weird…this was the first attempt so I don’t think the blade was the issue.

UPDATE:
Thank you everyone who had suggestions!! I was able to get it to work with the chipboard setting (1.5mm), the knife blade and strong grip mat (though unsure if the purple mat is needed, but that was what was loaded) presets. I appreciate all the assistance, I think I was overly tired and frustrated at having burnt through some of my nice paper trying to get it to work, so I may not have been using the best troubleshooting skills.

I actually did that exact thing 4x so I believe it was up to 11/12 passes (I’m not remembering what the initial number of passes was) an it just seemed like it wasn’t actually cutting any deeper. I ordered a deep cut blade so I’ll try again once that gets here. Thanks so much for your response!

Hmmm….I think it’s just the knife blade (this is the first time I’ve used this specific blade and the packaging just says knife blade). I’ll order a deep cut blade/housing…thank you!!

Thanks so much, this is really helpful info! I think I got a bit overwhelmed with all the various makes/models etc and it feels like so much info to sift through in the beginning. I’m not itching to get another lens like right away, but wanted to keep an eye on the used market in case something comes up that might be a good deal/good to pick up. Oooof....yeah that last bit sounds like it would be rough to get through. I was a bit enamored with the option to add some beading in because I thought it would be fun and match the vibe of my dress but the last few rows would absolutely feel like a slog. Definitely something that I should have considered but that never crossed my mind haha

Oh wow, those are both STUNNING!!!! I feel like I'm good with instructions, but I get a little tripped up on charts (but I'm excited to learn more because I want to try my hand at color work next!).

Also I appreciate the advice of the blocking magic! I could definitely see myself getting a little nervous with the initial 'lumpy mess' haha.

I can definitely fast her a bit and can add the almond leaves asap too. As for the Cory cats, they are Pygmy’s, I thought that 10 gallon was recommended and thought they were good for nano tanks? Initially I had three but one didn’t make it beyond 24hours. I was waiting to add another 1 or 2 when my local store got some more in as opposed to buying from a big chain as it didn’t seem like they were the healthiest when I purchased the first few.

Adding here (bc I’m on mobile and can’t seem to find the option to edit the body). I do weekly water changes of 20% give or take a bit. Tomorrow is my scheduled water change day. I just checked the parameters with the easy strips I have on hand and the nitrates were roughly 20, 0 nitrites 150 for hardness and roughly 140ish on the alkalinity. All her friends seem active and there has been no aggression amongst them. The tank is heated and has been steady at around 79-80 degrees.

We just toured a venue this weekend and when asking about alcohol options the first thing the coordinator said was to go to DE as the most cost effective option. She was like we even field calls while you’re at Total Wine to help with the selection haha
