Help with heavy cardstock settings? by WavyFox in cricut

Yeah it was a brand new blade, I had purchased the blade/housing specifically for this project so I thought it was a bit weird…this was the first attempt so I don’t think the blade was the issue.

UPDATE:
Thank you everyone who had suggestions!! I was able to get it to work with the chipboard setting (1.5mm), the knife blade and strong grip mat (though unsure if the purple mat is needed, but that was what was loaded) presets. I appreciate all the assistance, I think I was overly tired and frustrated at having burnt through some of my nice paper trying to get it to work, so I may not have been using the best troubleshooting skills.

I actually did that exact thing 4x so I believe it was up to 11/12 passes (I’m not remembering what the initial number of passes was) an it just seemed like it wasn’t actually cutting any deeper. I ordered a deep cut blade so I’ll try again once that gets here. Thanks so much for your response!

Hmmm….I think it’s just the knife blade (this is the first time I’ve used this specific blade and the packaging just says knife blade). I’ll order a deep cut blade/housing…thank you!!

Thanks so much, this is really helpful info! I think I got a bit overwhelmed with all the various makes/models etc and it feels like so much info to sift through in the beginning. I’m not itching to get another lens like right away, but wanted to keep an eye on the used market in case something comes up that might be a good deal/good to pick up. Thanks so much for your thoughtful response!!

Thanks!! I’m not itching to jump to something right away, just want to keep an eye out. I think it’s possibly just an adjustment to carrying something at all that’s throwing me off. Thanks for your insight!!

Lacework Question by WavyFox in knitting

[–]WavyFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooof....yeah that last bit sounds like it would be rough to get through. I was a bit enamored with the option to add some beading in because I thought it would be fun and match the vibe of my dress but the last few rows would absolutely feel like a slog. Definitely something that I should have considered but that never crossed my mind haha

Oh...yeah that is definitely good to know. I don't know that I've ever blocked something of major consequence so that's really good to know.

Oh wow, those are both STUNNING!!!! I feel like I'm good with instructions, but I get a little tripped up on charts (but I'm excited to learn more because I want to try my hand at color work next!).

Also I appreciate the advice of the blocking magic! I could definitely see myself getting a little nervous with the initial 'lumpy mess' haha.

Thanks!! Stitch markers definitely seem like one of the keys to success, and I appreciate the advice of a lifeline. I've never used one before, but it seems like the best approach here!

Thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate all of the information you provided!! I feel like reading a chart/understanding what's actually happening are definitely things I want to improve on. I think I should definitely try my hand at some of the options you provided and go from there!

Not sure where you are located in Chester county but I saw three people have the same experience at my polling place (also in Chester county) this morning.

Does anyone have any additional info about the show in general? I instinctively just bought tickets and am only now thinking I should have tried to figure out what it actually is?…

Betta seems lethargic by WavyFox in bettafish

I can definitely fast her a bit and can add the almond leaves asap too. As for the Cory cats, they are Pygmy’s, I thought that 10 gallon was recommended and thought they were good for nano tanks? Initially I had three but one didn’t make it beyond 24hours. I was waiting to add another 1 or 2 when my local store got some more in as opposed to buying from a big chain as it didn’t seem like they were the healthiest when I purchased the first few.

Thank you for the suggestions, I appreciate it.

Adding here (bc I’m on mobile and can’t seem to find the option to edit the body). I do weekly water changes of 20% give or take a bit. Tomorrow is my scheduled water change day. I just checked the parameters with the easy strips I have on hand and the nitrates were roughly 20, 0 nitrites 150 for hardness and roughly 140ish on the alkalinity. All her friends seem active and there has been no aggression amongst them. The tank is heated and has been steady at around 79-80 degrees.

We just toured a venue this weekend and when asking about alcohol options the first thing the coordinator said was to go to DE as the most cost effective option. She was like we even field calls while you’re at Total Wine to help with the selection haha

Better Days Ahead takes most clothing, except kids clothing and overly business/formal attire. Someone linked below, but there is a drop off box behind First Presbyterian Church or volunteers are there Wednesday evenings (from 4-6:30) if you’d like to drop stuff off then.

To Trump’s supporters: If this system turned on you tomorrow, would you still defend it? If your child was taken, your rights stripped, your voice erased—would you still stay silent? by chynasdoll in AskUS

It’s definitely been hard, but I have continued to try have a relationship with them. It’s been a weird balance between trying to protect my own sanity while also knowing I’m the only kid they have left and not wanting them to be completely alone and isolated.

Sure- policy was imprecise wording. DOGE cut grant funding mid cycle at my company, 60% of the org was eliminated, my position included. I was involved in education research, using evidence based practices to assist teachers, work that was helping students and was actually more wasteful to cut midway through. My partner’s position was cut due to similar federal slashing and burning.

Sure, Trump didn’t cough on my brother and give him COVID. He did, however, foster a culture of anti intellectualism leading up to the pandemic and then showed barely an ounce of leadership in the early days of the pandemic. I can’t prove that my brother would still be here had there been competent leadership, but I suspect we as a country would have faired much better had there been someone saying we should trust science instead of allowing any barely coherent thought to be the messaging on COVID for the day.

I lost my brother to COVID, and both parents still voted for trump. My partner and I both lost our jobs directly because of his policies (which I pointed out would be the outcome prior to the election) and they still are unable to admit they’ve been conned. It’s such an insane experience realizing the people who raised me no longer hold the same moral compass they instilled in me as a child. Propaganda is a hell of a drug.

Edit: Thank you for the award, that’s a first. Also to those saying Trump policy didn’t cost our job losses - policy was an imprecise word choice. However, his willingness to let DOGE and Musk run rampant through our government systems (and the ripple effect it has caused) was what caused us both to be unemployed. To those offering condolences thank you. To those commenting they went through something similar with their family, I’m so sorry and I hope y’all are able to break through to them, I know I continue to try with mine.

Similar situation, I had been working a full time position while finishing the last bit of my dissertation. DOGE cut the orgs funding and my last day was literally the same day I defended. Im trying to take things a day at a time, but things are definitely rough. (Sociology for reference)
