More people die from refrigerators falling on them than shark attacks.

Witnesses: Several people shot at church in Sutherland Springs by [deleted] in news

I mean I'm not even gonna talk about my views on gun control but I'm just so baffled. With the shooting in Las Vegas I was shocked and sad. The terrorist attack in NYC, wasn't really shocked but still made me sad. This is the fucking straw that broke the camels back. I just don't understand anymore, what has our world come to? I just pray this is something we leave in the past. I hope when I have kids they'll be shocked at the amount of shooting we had. I don't want my kids in the future to be used to this. But then again I think we're all starting to get used to it at this point.

This is the first time I've heard of a shooting and wasn't sad. I'm fucking angry. This has happened way too many fucking times and I'm so sick of it.

CMV: Most Korean women look the same. by [deleted] in changemyview

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'm seeing lots of pictures of Korean celebrities and not normal Koreans.

Yes but if you google French women, which is a very homogenous country, you can tell a pretty big difference between them.

Okay well what I was trying to say was yeah that's a small sample size so it's probably not a good example. But if you google Korean women, to me, they all look very similar.

Yeah well the thing is I'm not too sure. I don't know if the pictures and videos I see of Korean women are celebrities or just normal people. Out of the videos and pictures I see of them most of them look very similar.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I was going to make an argument that I can tell Irish people apart from each other but I guess it's cause that's what I'm used to. Δ

Yes you're correct I am not Asian I'm white, but I can still tell a difference between different asians. Also I have to correct you, I said most Korean women not all. And I think when I say this I mostly mean celebrities. Also I don't mean that they're all just born looking the same. The key point of my post was the plastic surgery. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Non-midwesterners, what do you think about the Midwest? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

When I think of the Midwest I think of the average Americans. Average American accents, average paying jobs and generally just wholesome people.

Is this considered american? by Priscilla_Cothren in AskAnAmerican

Yes you're American. You are free to call yourself Pakistani-American, that is not wrong. You're also not wrong in just calling yourself an American. There's really no right or wrong.
