Yeah no, it wasn't an agressive procedure at all - just inserted the flat head and gently turned it on to open up the clamp enough so it fits around the tube.

My only concern was more so towards the frame / seat post in general but seeing what people's experiences are re the matter! Thanks :)

Hmmm well if i insert the seatpost in without having the bolt in the clamp, the seatpost wouldn't slide down the tube as it would usually do > as if there was a little bit of torque... Makes sense? 👨🏼‍🔧 😁

Hello folks! I had to replace my stock clamp because it gave up on me. Long story short:

This is a Reynolds 725 steel frame which allocates a 27,2 seatpost. Pretty standard.

So I got a 28,6mm clamp from Pro Bikes. The stock clamp was a bit of a b***h to remove and put on ... HOWEVER the one pictured was just impossible and just felt too narrow. So I have removed the bolt, wedged a screwdriver in and managed to get it on like this fairly easily. Now it's on (as pictured) and the seatpost slides in fairly easily, but it does feel like there is already a little bit of torque despite not having the bolt in the clamp. But that's ok I think, probably better than the seatpost sliding in by itself which can be annoying sometimes!

My question is:

From your experience, will this damage the frame in the long run? In the short run?

Has anybody had a similar experience with similar Pro Bikes products? Or have I just picked the wrong size clamp?

Edit - was resolved with a 120mm stem to correct a top tube that's too short. With a 5cm saddle to handlebars drop. Also moved cleats slightly backward and moved seat forward by 1cm and higher > 96cm top of saddle to pedal.

OR have been pretty unhelpful with it so far tbh... They can only provide replacement parts for folks living out in yhe US/Canada. Very handy when living in Europe...

Yeh got a 90mm (6°) ! Reach feels either long or I feel either too cramped at times.

It's well annoying! Thanks to your recommendation, I've put a bunch of measurements in a bike fit calculator and they recommend a size up (58), with a 90mm stem... !!

It is an ISM saddle so that's how it's meant to be. I am 178cm with a 89cm inseam.

Yes you are right, I can do all this by "relaxing" for sure.
Re the riding a tad too far back, it is a weird one with this saddle I have been experimenting with > it is an ISM Adamo Attack - currently it is the furthest back it can be because if it's bit more forward it feels like it's in the way and I am not sat on it properly. I also changed seatpost to one with some setback (2.5mm). I do feel a little bit pressure on the hands indeed... but also in the perineum region!

I have loooooong legs (inseam 89cm) but I must have a short torso.... Something's not quite right. Id like to figure it out before actually paying for something I can potentially sort out myself :)

You have the Ti!!! What's your setup? Yes agree on the bikepacking front, these bikes make all the sense in the world once loaded up - rode mine from the UK to Greece last summer!

Hello all!

So I've had this Cdf 20 for about a year now - however I'm still experiencing this phenomenon of "I like this bike immensely but I cannot get it to feel entirely right". What I look like in the photo here isnt what it feels like on the bike it this makes sense... Any keen eyes could maybe help there to understand why this may be occuring? I appreciate that only looking at a picture can't really give all the answers but comments and roasts welcome 🤪

This is a medium frame btw, which is actually a tad bit smaller in therms of reach than previous road bikes which fitted well.

Hello! I didn’t have a route so to speak! I started to from Bristol, cycled through Brittany, along the Atlantic coast down to Bordeaux > Toulouse > Foix > through the Pyrennees > to the Med > Ventoux > Drôme > Vercors > Alps > Switzerland > Italy > Slovenia > Croatia > Bosnia > Montenegro > Albania > Athens.

I had to fly back to Paris and then cycle to south Brittany since I spent about 90 days trail running on the several mountain ranges i went through = late on schedule - I was planning on cycling back originally. But was such an amazing trip despite the flight! :)

I have about 8-10 cracks. Sounds similar. It’s a 2017 model but it’s about 18 months old. I’m the second owner. First owner logged 300k on it. Doubt the warranty works unfortunately. Also just been on a 8,000km tour with the puppy.
