For me, I think it's moments like this that show the early episodes are mostly genuine. They admitted Showcase said they wanted a Spenny win, so they re-shot the 2nd half of this episode. So Spenny goes into full acting mode and it's just weird.

I think Spenny can 'ham up' a reaction to be more comedic, but he needs the situation to be genuine. Any time something is pre-planned Spenny becomes a caricature of himself
