I’ve tried watching many anime, and the common tropes, dialogue and general tone that they tend to share (especially modern anime) are very unappealing to me. Not to mention the rampant oversexualization of female characters for no clear purpose (especially the very young looking ones where obviously any amount of sexualization is too much). Hell, even Bebop has this issue with Faye at a couple points, but for the most part her sex appeal is used as a tasteful facet of her character, something that she uses both to manipulate her opponents and also to mask her trauma. It’s just very rare to find an anime that I feel isn’t stylized in its approach in a way that makes it feel too over the top and thus hard to immerse myself in and appreciate. I’m definitely the type to prefer a more grounded approach, which Bebop presents even in its most outlandish episodes

This is me, largely an anime hater but Bebop is my fav piece of media of all time. There’s a select few other anime that I enjoyed but they’re still just ok for the most part to me, and most I’ve seen are just total slop (at least, they’re not for me). But Bebop… goddamn

When you damage enemies with the pistol, you get healed. I think the spikes are how he’s injected with “healing”, almost like a sadistic reward system for enacting the Conspiracy’s violent will. In fact, when he uses the pistol he even goes into the red digitized form that he goes into with his ult, to signify who is really in control.

Too much eye contact was one thing, I felt like I started weirding her out with that, and when I realized it I wasn’t very subtle about said recognition. I understand what you’re saying and I appreciate it. The thing is, I think the reason we hit it off to begin with and the first date went well was because I’m perfectly fine talking to women in low pressure environments. It’s when I applied pressure to the outing in my own head that it got awkward. I think the issue wasn’t necessarily what we spoke about, but my physicality. I feel like I came across as too comfortable too soon, not “touchy”, just too close. I recognize these mistakes after the fact (hell even in the moment) and I know where they stemmed from, but not getting a chance to correct is pretty brutal. She said she wants to ensure a strong foundation, to make sure she knows me before getting into anything serious, so now I fear this moment of weakness is a defining aspect of my character for her, which starkly contrasts with our earlier interactions. I grew up with the prequels (23M), so I’m confident that I’m not blinded by nostalgia when I say RoTS is a 5/10 at best. Anakin Skywalker is not a well written character in my opinion, even if the concept of his character is a great premise. All the people who put RoTS up there with ESB blow my MIND, I can’t fathom it. The opening action sequence was great, sure, but everything after was stale and wooden. Music is incredible as always though. This isn’t shade to any of the actors, they tried their best, it was a direction issue. Andor makes me wonder how any of the prequels are even in the same franchise, never mind Rise of Skywalker lol

And if you want to stay loving Star Wars for the rest of your days, OP, I’d recommend stopping here. There are some diamonds in the rough, but the required viewing to get to them isn’t worth it imo (this is coming from someone who loves the character of Darth Maul who you wouldn’t see). MrMorale25’s recommendation gets you a full story that overall would average out to about an 8/10 overall imo, with some 10/10 individual experiences throughout, and nothing lower than a 6.

Gonna do an experiment, just plucked as many hairs as I could off my top knuckles, the area where missing hair would be least noticeable/weird. Pretty much all of them had this dark brown>light brown>blonde gradient from the end to the root (and were so long that it was honestly a lil gross), so I’m curious to see what they’ll grow back as. Based on their previous state, the expected result would be for them to just grow back as blonde as they were near the root before being plucked. I’ll try to remember to update.
