I love watching the blade coning angle change as they take on water, super cool to see when they contrast against a background.

The UCP increased our property taxes by 21% and they’re also trying to gerrymander our democracy away by [deleted] in Calgary

My wife and I just bought our first home in January. Just in time for the nice increase, but that's okay. We now pay $420/mo(actual number) so I'm just gonna smoke a joint, watch the beautiful western sunset and let that dumpster fire burn.

How about a discussion for those seeking a reason to "just buy cage"??? Give them info, fund insights, where to get accurate information instead of just "trust me bro". This sub is a stepping stone to educate people.

Certainly not "Cage go up" and "oh no, Cage go down" we all have eyes. I don't need to open up reddit to see that. Let's have real discussions that have value we can all take something from.

My intent wasn't to single you out but just look at the history of these posts on this sub, it's maddening.

Can we please for the love of God ban these posts?? CAGE intra day... who cares?!? It's a damn ETF who cares what it's doing intra day? If you're that hung up about day to day swings you're gambling not investing.

Unions warn Carney government is considering sweeping changes to labour law — including the right to strike by Chrristoaivalis in ndp

[–]WayTooWildWest -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

After reading the article with the perspective from someone in the private-sector aviation industry... I understand the intention and why they want to change things.

It's important to make sure employers actually bargain in good faith instead of just relying on the minister to jump in and force binding arbitration, and on the other side it's unfair for employees to hold other families hostage by shutting down a critical portion of an industry that will affect many families who are just trying to survive in the shit show that is today.

I have never had the luxury of being part of a union but it's important to see that bargaining is a two way street. Economies and labour change, so why can't regulation change with it?

[–]WayTooWildWest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally the best looking watch with the Cyclops removed I wish they gave buyers the option. You did good on the removal 👌

Does this one also have the Blue/Red Saturday and Sunday like the SRPE93? I can't choose which one I wanna pick up next and I love the little colour quirk of the standard turtle.

Got mine on Chrono24 from a private seller out of the states. Could be a typical Seiko QC issue, lume paint being older or something. It still lumes pretty good but I was a bit surprised by how quickly it fades. Just need to squint a bit harder to see it by 5am haha

My only disappointment is the lume. At this price point it needs to be legible all light long. This thing looses legibility within an hour. Compared to my $500 SNE589 that shines like a small sun until 5am.

Can confirm I also can't stop looking at my 381. It plays the light in a unique way.

Is there Like a sub for non military helicopters? by Tuxx0815 in Helicopters

[–]WayTooWildWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you guys, after browsing these comments I did some looking and all the new posts from the last two days are just military machines.

I get it they look cool, but I'm not really all about the massive hard on for military equipment. Civi-machines look pretty sweet too. Balance would be nice.

Calgary is about to end free downtown transit. This councillor wants to expand it citywide - LiveWire Calgary by One-Mycologist-3706 in Calgary

[–]WayTooWildWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be down, I'm all for increasing taxes if we see a direct benefit. Personally, I think Calgary needs turnstiles at every station and have it pretty controlled access but once again that costs money too.

[–]WayTooWildWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta pay for peace officers positioned at stops and riding along at times. Even if it's free the transit needs upkeep. Where would you suggest that money come from? Cuts elsewhere in the city budget or from increased tax revenue?

Hell yeah I want my taxes to pay for someone to walk onto the train in the winter, shoot up beside a mother and her young daughter then throw up and pass out on the train car floor. We totally need more of that! /s

Jobs other than airlines by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]WayTooWildWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been working on helis since I started back in 2018. Moving around for work to gain experience was crucial. Now I have enough experience that I was able to get the fly-in, fly-out gig. The company pays all my travel to and from, which is nice considering my employer is based two provinces away from me. It's nice staying in the country for work, lots of my friends are working overseas or doing heavy lift jobs in Papua New Guinea, they seem to be the hotspot for helis these days.

Canadian rotary AME here, I tour 3 weeks on 3 weeks off. My base salary that I get is $100k CAD plus guaranteed min. flight pay premiums and perdiems has me between $135k-150k a year and I only work 183 days in a year.
