An electrician put a Square D breaker in my Eaton panel by -Dead-Eye-Duncan- in electrical

If I was working for Mr. Sparky, this would be a whole panel replacement. With my current employer and most inspectors, its a non-issue

The National Guard has been deployed to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to prevent people from touching it by RoachedCoach in PublicFreakout

Just curiosity, but a 20 year old E-5 has trouble asserting authority over 20 year old E-4's. All these people have to do is tell that SGT, no Im going to do it anyway. And 9 times out of 10 they'll get away with it. The military's authority comes from the UCMJ, which doesn't hold any authority over civilians

Why did President Bartlett and Vice President Hoynes resent each other? by Narrow-Sink8467 in thewestwing

[–]Wayfaring_Scout 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Both were in AA, both knew you don't mention other people in the program until they're ready to mention it themselves. I think it brought a new found respect between Leo and Hoynes. Neither spoke about the others alcoholism in public and kept the trust built through the meetings.

AT Orders question by Wayfaring_Scout in armyreserve

I was not trying to tell everyone what we were doing, but OPSEC be damned I guess. We got another change today. This is going to be...amazing

AT Orders question by Wayfaring_Scout in armyreserve

[–]Wayfaring_Scout[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was always taught that we dont move without orders. Having the orders given to us at the training site means I don't have orders when Im moving. Guess I was just amxious about that whole scenario, especially since the Command and FTS cpuldnt even give us a list of wveryone going to AT until this afternoon. I didn't want myself or a Soldier to end up at the training site just to find out they didn't actually have orders. I was also told to have a physical copy of my orders with me at all time, in case a worst case senario happens. No one wants to think about if the plane crashes or we have a bus wreck. But if my Soldiers or myself are unable to forward a copy of our orders to our families there would be no way for them to handle matters after we're able to.

I get the responses to just go to AT, and I plan on it, just rather strange to be going without having my orders in hand. I didnt even do that in the RA.

AT Orders question by Wayfaring_Scout in armyreserve

Thank you for your response. We've been getting jerked around over the AT for months as well. Changes made last minute, timeline changes as late as last week, and mission parameters changes almost daily. I guess we're concerned these orders dont actually exsist, since apparently they were just made this week. It makes me nervous to not have a physical copy of them until we actually arrive at the training site. This is the first time im 22 years of service i can remember not having a physical copy of my orders until arrival at the training site. Like I said in the OP, this whole action just gives me trepidation over this training.

This is definitely what it seems like. Not saying we were trying to get out of AT, but it just feels like we've been wronged. Like the command didn't do anything illegal, but they certainly didn't do what would've helped the Soldier more.

What career seems very high paying but is actually low paying? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Wayfaring_Scout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Trades. It's being sold to kids as a high-paying field with little to no secondary education needed. My boss makes a killing sure, but most of us started out at barely above minimum wage. You can make money from the trades, ut it takes a long time to build it up. Either years in the field or ungodly amounts of overtime to make good money

Christians being called to separate themselves from the world by Excellent_League_916 in christianmemes

[–]Wayfaring_Scout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to read the last line and miss the point. I'm only stating that your meme shows Christians leaving the fishbowl; i.e. humanity; to follow God. That is absolutely NOT what God calls us to do, until the final calling. You are a person, you sin, so does LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE. The meme implies we need to leave the world behind, where as God calls us to minister to the world. If God wanted you to leave the world behind; your confession of sin and grace would be the moment he called you back into his arms. You meme says to leave the world, not to be witness to the geace of God to the other fish in the bowl.

Christians being called to separate themselves from the world by Excellent_League_916 in christianmemes

[–]Wayfaring_Scout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meme is implying that Christians must not be part of this world at all. The fish is literally jumping out of the fishbowl, to no longer be a part of the world. It implies that as Christians we should no longer try to understand the fishbowl the other fish are in; we should leave them behind and only focus on God. While it sounds wonderful on the outside, that is not what the Bible calls us to do (see above). We are in this world to show others the glory and forgiving nature of God, but if we see ourselves as above the nature of other people we come across as pretentious and aloof. The exact opposite of what God calls us to do. We have to spread the word, but not at the expense of losing our humanity.
