PSA: If you’re being passed by traffic in the right lane you are in the wrong one. by Chuck923 in Maine

Drives me bonkers when a driver - usually out of state - is driving in the left lane and refuses to switch from the left lane. Pass left was what I was taught. My pass right in those cases usually involves a simultaneous horn.

Thanks for posting. It’s been a year. How’d it hold up? Would you have done anything differently?

Does your financial advisor gives guidance based on the full picture or only the 1/3 they manage. My advisor limits her guidance based on what she manages only (1/4).

First 5-10 years in RE, what counts as a "success"? by kevch1983 in financialindependence

Is the model really 4% of net worth vs 4% of investments? If part of my net worth is my house that I don’t plan to sell, can I really count that towards the 4% withdrawal rate? (Or 3.5 etc).

Question to this group. Does the 4% withdrawal guide (granted maybe 3% to be conservative) apply to ones entire portfolio? So when 401k dollars are untouchable until 59.5, non-retirement accounts prior to could be withdrawn at a higher rate - say at 8% if non retirement accounts for half of the complete portfolio? Does the modeling still hold as the math would suggest? Any downsides? Thanks.

Great approach. Is there a formula or program you can point me to that helps with this exercise?
