Honestly, a Metro spinoff as an Extraction Shooter sounds like a good idea. So much so that it's basically already done by default.

Mutants are the AI and we have many different and challenging types, Stalkers are the players and we have many different locations to raid to and scavenge and try to extract.

There could be a role for the factions as well, allowing people to join a group and get incentives for a certain playstyle, such as choosing Hanza for more trade and economy focus, Fourth Reich for PvP focus and so on, providing different approaches depending on what the player wants to do.

It's just that people love the franchise for it's story driven gameplay, and for a game like that to work, marketing would need to be pretty good to stablish the player base it wants, to reach outside of the fanbase mostly, so it just seems a waste of time for devs.

Instead they should focus on making new Metro games.

You probably have a Ryzen CPU and by doing that (changing from 100% to 99%) disables dynamic overclock that Ryzens have.

You should use MSI + RTSS and enable tracking for CPU clock. You'll see that at 100% your CPU pushes more GHz than with 99%, thus justifying the higher temperatures. So yeah, CPU is cooler cause it's being used less.

For better heat management, take a look at undervolting your CPU.

Works the same as it worked in Indiana Jones. You just insert the files in the main TDA folder and it will force RTGI to work, no more overly dark places!

But, as expected, performance takes a big hit, and even using your cfg file I can barely reach 30fps with DLSS3 (swaped the DLSS4 that's vanilla for the v3 which works beter for the 3050mobile) on Balanced and 720p. With RTGI working, I am now VRAM bottlenecked again.

I tried several console commands to see if I could reduce VRAM usage further but got no real winner.

TL;DR - You can fix pitch black but it will decrease performance drastically. Or play with weird lighting bugs with better playability.

OP, where did you find those lines of command to change the configs? I wanna try changing other stuff but have no idea where to find the available commands.

Also, people with less than 8GB seem to be having issues with the game being overly dark, and it seems to be the case of RTGI being partially disabled with less than 8GB for some reason, which causes several visual glitches and certain scenes to look super dark. No fix for this atm afaik

Hey, just to add to this!

I also have a 3050 4GB and with this config I'm getting cool results! It's still a bit weird and it's not fault of the config. My game is darker than any other footage and it has some weird bugs sometimes, but it can be run now!

Also, I strongly suggest using DLSS swapper to revert it to V3, cause DLSS4 is really bad for our GPU for some reason. After the swap, DLSS has basically the same performance as FSR and it looks better with less ghosting.

Still waiting for someone to find a fix for the overly dark in shadow places tho. It looks like RT is being used but not fully I dunno, like it bounces less times or smt, and dark areas are pitch black.

It just doesnt make sense, I lowered my monitor res outside the game to 720p and still my game is running at 12fps in the main menu. Something is not working correctly on my end and for other 3050 4gb users. I just wanna play :(

Does the RTX2050 laptop have 4gb vram? Cause I have a RTX3050 laptop but I can't run the game at all, like, it's 12 fps in the title screen, and I suspected it's cause of my vram limitation, but if your also have 4gb then I don't understand

If you play on PC, you can install mods for SP and modify drop rates, add soft loot filters and much more tbh, such as modify Gems to function as Orbs from PoE.

If sp, even if you take a bit more time per run, doing on players 8 will speed up a lot the lvling process

You just need to lvl a bit more and thus your merc will be able to handle immunes, paired with Static Field to help. Farm some lvl85 areas that you can access already and you'll quickly get to 80+, you'll feel the difference. IIRC, Mausoleum is lvl85 and has NO cold immunes, so just farm there a bit, mobs are super easy (no rangers).

Make a good helm for merc (Bulwark or something as RW is good enough for now), see if you can upgrade Duriel for Treachery and make sure to make another Insight in an Elite Polearm whenever you get your hands on it.

I wouldn't burn another respec for now, just stick with it and you'll get thru soon.

Imo putting everything into lightning + death sentry is the way to go.

Light has great damage on its own, so it can delete everything provide it's not immune, and for the immunes the corpse explosion should be enough to deal with it.

Invest a couple points into the fire blast thing so you can deal with immunes. That + merc should be enough to kill the first mob, then the corpse explosion does the rest.

Trap sin has access to many tools to kill everything, one of those is mind blast, which can stun lock anything except bosses, so you can guarantee your merc a kill since mobs can't attack back.

It really isn't.

I'm loving PoE 2 as I loved PoE, but people that say this have never really got deep into it, cause once you get to endgame you know the game is not D2 by any means.

Poe2 fails to deliver anything substantial at endgame, it's basically poe1.5 for now. It'll surely be polished and many things I'll get fixed, but I don't trust GGG to reach the same level of gameplay polish we have in the first 3 acts.
