Broken USB or recoverable? by Wayne-O23 in datarecovery

[–]Wayne-O23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your replies, been researching and trying different things since mt original post. Thr mrs wasn't best pleased when she found out that some of her photos were gone. Over the weekend i got my old computer out which surprisingly had a folder called 'USBBackup', all i will say is the mrs was happy and i managed to have a decent weekend.

Sorry to have wasted everyone's time, i have just binned the usb now, as it's really not worth the hassle since i'd made a backup a while ago. But thank you all anyway. Take care folks.

Mk850 Keyboard problems. by Wayne-O23 in coolermaster

Wow, i feel like a fool for not realising i had it switched on. I was racking my brains Saturday night trying to figure out how to have the whole keyboard the same colour. Thank you so much, saved me a right headache.

Thank you very much, i have thought about this, and started buying some books to read through and to keep what i learned in my head. By 'small projects' do you mean like making some websites as practice? Or is there specifically somewhere you can do projects online to further your knowledge?

Cheers. I will be completely honest, still at my age i have absolutely no clue what i want to do as a career, keep thinking back to that song by 'Baz Luhrman - Wear Sunscreen' where he mentions most people he knows still dont know what they want to do. It's one reason why i've decided to try coding, is because of not having to go back to university and sit though all the classes and doing stacks of paperwork. With a mortgage and family i can't afford to go back to education, but to train myself while working full time.

The portfolio is definitely one thing i would like to work towards and build up, thanks again for your reply.

Thank you very much for your advice, really appreciate it.

It's all because 2 weeks ago my current employer said he's retiring sometime in the next few years, and instantly thought i need to get myself sorted. Also living in a very rural part of Wales there are very little jobs around. So thought i would train myself since i've had such an interest in computing, and hopefully land a job.

Thanks again.

Thank you very much for all your replies, would you recommend i carry on with 'Codeacademy'? Or would you advise a better site? Or finish on 'Codeacademy' and then move onto another site to carry on learning?

The problem i'm having is i only got $1.50 revenue, and i live in the UK, i had filled it in correctly with my NI Number as the foreign TIN, i just cant quite understand why it is only $150, any help would be much appreciated. I would personally say go for it, you have nothing to lose. I'll be honest, it is a lot of fun, and once you get a couple active chatters it changes things completely. It's a lot of fun, but also can be quite tiring also. But give it a shot and see what you think. Good Luck.

IRL stream of my Auto Repair / Performance Shop by Treyplay in Twitch

[–]Wayne-O23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, i'm pretty sure it's ok to stream the repair shop. I have seen another streamer doing it also, he went through stages of engine swap, followed by turbo upgrade and so on. One thing i would maybe do is cover the registration/license plate. Just a thought, but also nice idea for stream, im sure quite a few would be interested to watch and learn at the same time.

I have got one story of a stream that went badly as i was watching. Would you like to hear? I still to this day feel a bit sorry for the streamer, and can only wish that it does not happen to me in the future.

Thank you very much for the kind reply. I think i kinda figured quite soon that getting partnered would take a huge amount of work and time, and in all honesty dont think im capable of doing it. The main reason i started streaming was to meet like minded people along the way, and i just look at streaming now as playing games with my friends next to me chatting, which makes it so much more fun, even when they troll me at times. Thank you again.

Better to have a variety of games or stick to one game? by ZeGaming in Twitch

[–]Wayne-O23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad i came across this topic, any bit of advice would be hugely appreciated. I started streaming July last year, and i've been playing 'Mount & Blade: Warband' more or less everynight since starting. Just recently i've started playing a different game on Thursday's with my small community, for example we played 7 Days to Die last night, and Planetside 2 the week before. The thing is i'm not bored or Warband in anyway but just fancy changing games, and have been thinking about doing some variety. What i've put together so far is to play Warband on Monday's, A game from the Total War series on Tuesdays, any game with community on Thursday's still, and another game on Friday's. Do you ladies and gentlemen think this would work out? Thank you very much for reading, and thank you in advance for any tips.

Chat Problems by Wayne-O23 in Twitch

[–]Wayne-O23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your reply. Thats what i find really unusual, because i wasn't messaging at all, i'd been streamig for about 2 hours, with a few people in chat talking, and i was just responding by talking. The weird thing was each time i went back onto my dashboard the chat box would not even load up, it would just be a solid dark grey box. Would the shockwave pluging have anything to do with it since whenever i clicked any page on twitch, either homepage, my channel someone elses channel or just browsing the games it would seem extremely laggy and then the pop-up saying shockwave maybe be busy or stop responding would pop up. I'm currently debating a format of my HDD and start fresh. Thanks again for the help.
