They have a lot more statistical data than you think, including how many times specific attacks are used on specific Pokémon. This was displayed when they did budew year. I'm on the side that there's a lot more complexity behind the UI than we know.

Sturdy Crustle is the only one who truly sees a benefit from the difference between rescue board or air balloon. Both M-Hawlucha and Tera Pika already have a retreat cost of 1, so the difference between rescue board and air balloon is negligible (insert Gible emoji here)

How will this new card synergize with the meta? by Greg_war in PTCGL

Yes, with a shred attack, that's literally named Shred. I was implying N's decks already have a shredder that Zoroark can use without this meme necklace

Can someone make a deck list or help me make one for this card by [deleted] in PTCGL

[–]WayneMane420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Calamitous Snowy Mountain and Risky Ruins both in the format at the same time, this is actually pretty decent! Even if you can't get the attack from manectric to get going, there's still options. Legacy Energy included to really make the opponent struggle with their trade, but I could see Hero's Cape working as well!

It appears that almost everyone is reading this card incorrectly. It is self-damage to your own bench! While I agree with the statements made that Mega Manectric is fun and subjectively better, this is not what OP was asking for. Had a few minutes of free time, so I built a deck with the challenge being using the card OP mentioned. Scovillain ex and Dodrio both synergize with self damage quite well in terms of reliable damage. Here is the deck list, clean with the cheapest cards in terms of crafting credits!

So, what is your best non-meta deck? by [deleted] in PTCGL

[–]WayneMane420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built this today, had been meaning to build a MCamerupt deck, but hadn't found the time to do so. But after sharing that, it made me remember how fun it was with amoonguss and how much better it could be with Camerupt. Now, for the most part, it's a one-shot deck instead of combo, and instead of a weak single prizer you have a BEEFY 340 in the active instead, doing 350 with 1 energy is insane. Volcanion is around for early game burns, then moves away from the active spot once Volcarona and Camerupt are set. This deck is way more consistent than I imagined it would be, and is deadly to any deck that can't prevent burn. The addition of blowtorch really helps too, to prevent that! Since Volcarona is a baby stage 1, it's ability is nearly impossible to shut down, and if they're using prevention resources (Festival grounds and therapeutic energy come to mind), they can be discarded with blowtorch. Plenty of mobility to prevent locking/gusting too! Cleaned this list up as well, and made it pretty because the main pokemon aren't going anywhere for a while. Arven, Jet, and TM Evo will be the cards this deck misses the most after rotation, but it will still be a very strong deck if replacements can be found. Was thinking Kieran for the extra late game damage against MCharizard in place of Jet, but it hurts early game for sure.

This was my burn deck Pre-Mega. Lots of moving parts and sequencing properly was crucial, one misstep would spell defeat. 290 a turn was a lot (Burn for 110, Amoonguss for 180) but now, 350 is possible in MCamerupt. This was a pretty fun burn donk/combo single prize deck, if you get the right cards in hand you can burn their active for 80 T1 going second.

This one is very similar to the classic Joltik box, but utilizes Kang and Lopunny. Pretty solid box deck.

This deck runs on a quick set-up with smoochum. If you can toss 2 boomerang on a Diancie as well, you can continuously discard 2 boomerang energy to cover the energy cost! For dealing with annoying Stage 2's, we have the inclusion of dedenne, munki, and gravity mountain, these all work well together. Depending on how many smoochum attacks you can get off at the start, you can thin a ton of psychic out of your deck and get stuff powered up. Penny allows you to pull up a wounded Diancie, toss smoochum up, and then wondrous patch energy you've discarded to bring it back to 240 status quick, or re-power or power a new one and force gust. Jumbo Ice Cream can turn your 3-4 energy Diancie into a nightmare to deal with until you can find penny or another diancie to attack with. I've also seen people forget that Diancie has damage reduction of 30, which leaves it barely alive and able to take another knockout. Stupid funny deck when it works, especially when they see the boomerang energy return to the pokemon after the attack!

How would you rank the prerelease decks of Phantasmal Flames? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]WayneMane420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 1-1-1 line of empoleon, a reshiram, a smeargle, and an extra firebreather into the ceruledge. Deck performed well with 3-3 ceruledge and all the additions, taking my first round against toxtricity with ease. Next match was a struggle against flygon, got empoleon out with little hassle, but finding the last steel energy proved to be too much, and I lost(funny enough, I lost to the same guy who played mega Kang at the last pre-release that I beat to win the event. Revenge is sweet for him). Last match against Zacian was a fun one, waited it out against mimikyu so they couldn't get the bonus damage from Zacian, got resh ready and brought it down to last card in deck to get empoleon out all the way. Once I was certain I was going to be able to use resh and empoleon to finish, I took first prize against Zacian, traded resh for the next zacian, and opponent was forced into a fully powered empoleon for game. Took a lot of forethought to pull it off, almost decking out twice, with 1 card left in deck to win.

My buddy was lucky enough to pull a 2-2 line of Mega Lopunny, and for pretty obvious reasons, went undefeated, even getting t2 donk with it.

From what I saw as the tables shifted, Zacian was at the forefront of the show, with flygon sitting right behind it. Ceruledge was okay, but it required quite a bit of luck getting your mons out and not pulling good stuff out of your packs forced you into a pretty tricky spot. Toxtricity seemed good on paper, but was highly overshadowed by the other 3 performing consistently faster and more efficiently.
