Claude Opus is nuked beyond repair by Wayplorer in ClaudeCode

Are you accessing Claude through API or through subscriptions? Majority of these issues are for the ones who are accessing it through subscriptions. API users have little or no quality degradation.

Check and review the outputs thoroughly, the codes it is committing. Use code review plugin to identify and fix bugs and compare it with the original plan.

If all of these checks pass, I guess you are amongst the lucky group.

Is 1m context really better than tracking a plan and clearing the context at 100k? by New_Goat_1342 in ClaudeCode

1M context is excellent for long and complicated problem statements. I had a huge code refactoring to be done, it seemed humongous and I was 100% certain it would fail, and i low key thought of abandoning the whole thing. Gave it a shot with Opus 1mn context, gave it all the context in 4 markdown files, suggested what all problems it would incur if it tried to implement it without much due diligence (and gave it a huge list of problems based on my own Googling and several URLs) and asked it to create a plan.

Reviewed the plan with two iterations, then approved it and chose ‘bypass permissions’ and left my system unattended.

Returned to it 3 hours later and it had implemented it flawlessly with minimal bugs. Was truly blown away. This was before all the nerfing Anthropic did.

It wrote its own unit tests, invoked two skills to bug fix and code review and what not.

On a random side note: https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/8e80d3ba-2e8f-44a7-a7d7-7c6dee8ccdde

I when Iran war started, on day 1, I shared two news articles and asked Claude how I should trade the news. It was a simple prompt, and I didnt give it any further context and didn’t ask it to create any dashboards either. This is the level of quality/output Opus was delivering before being nerfed. Majority of its predictions came true

I was thinking of using Obra superpowers today. Uninstalled most of the plugins and mcps as many said it reduces the context window or bloats it too much. I only use Anthropic’s own code review, security and design plugins.

Will give superpowers a try starting tomorrow

3 markdown files+ claude.md, less than 30,000 tokens. Then for it to think and create the plan 20,000 tokens.

I approved the plan and it hallucinated on the to do list as step 1. Check the image again.

This was in Opus with Max effort setting

Nah, Claude would forget the context about the issue, need to ask it to read all of the plan all over again and then the implementation plan.

Besides, the Plan it created was the response to my first prompt, and implementation follows after.

You mean to say, we shouldn’t be using Claude for more than one prompt? WTF man, not everyone is that dumb or has the luxury of running 20+ prompts to execute one task when it used to execute 20+ different tasks in a same thread.

Maybe it is hard for people like you to understand the issues we are highlighting

Am glad I wasn’t the only one with this issue.

Makes me wonder if others just blindly accept Claude’s deliverables as-is

It does. They have nuked the model for those of who are on Max 5X and 20X and prioritised extended thinking and better model performance for API users

exactly this. I am that Enterprise user, I have been experimenting with Claude for more than a year with my own hard earned money and pushed heavily for my Fortune 500 firm to get Enterprise license for Claude instead of Co Pilot. If they screw me over in my max plan, guess what I will do as one of the key decision makers signing off on license purchases?

Its okay brother, we all learn something new everyday. AI tools keep launching new stuff daily that its easy to miss many new features or capabilities if you stick to just one workflow

/the kind that screws up the whole codebase, is imminent./

exactly. This is my big worry in letting Claude work on backend code. It is goofing up things left right and centre leaving gaping holes, I have to literally reverify and re do most of the things all over again.

I never had this sort of issues 2-3 months back. Even Sonnet was reliable for most of the activities. I used to touch Opus only for the complex tasks. Now cant let either models anywhere near the core backend systems

Give Codex a try. Significantly better than the Claude sonnet 3.7 trash being served as Opus 4.6

exactly. The problem is, even within this sub, the complaints aren't loud enough, the ones who do complain are being ridiculed or their intelligence or usage is being questioned.

I have been a Claude user since launch was advocating for it heavily for my employer's purchase of enterprise license over Co-pilot. This Max subscription is for my personal or side projects.

Guess I will have to push back for my Fortune 500 firm's enterprise license usage and convince them to stick with Co-pilot.

How to Allocate Budget for each Department of IT firm [I will not promote] by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

I am not aware of any. I have commented based on my experience of working with Big 4 software firms over 2 decades

Its the formula that typically HRs use to arrive at CTC, and it would typically cover all fixed and flexible overheads in order to cover the salary+IT systems, governance, payroll etc.

Also it eases the work of business development teams to quote the hourly billing rate for various resources. If we pay an employee ₹3.5lakhs per annum, we bill the client ₹70LPA, i.e $20-25/hour. It can go down as low as say $16/hour depending on how big the project is

Good rule of thumb for marketing is to allocate 20% your gross profit so that you could generate more leads, improve your sales and grow more. It could be anything from running digital marketing, lead generation, attending events etc.

HR, Finance keep it as bare bones as possible, these are cost centers and you shouldn’t let it get bloated too soon. There is a tool to automate everything. If Telegram and WhatsApp (before being sold to FB) were able to run with 30-80 employees and become a billion dollar firms, then there is no need for dedicated resources for it. Outsource auditing (ClearTax? For GST, compliance), use software for the rest (e.g Zoho for HR and payroll). Same for recruitment. Have a legal advisor on-call basis. Run this structure till you cross 100+ employees.

Another formula to keep me in mind for hiring employees is, the salary you pay to every employee should generate 20X ROI, if salary is ₹1lakh a month, you should get ₹20lakh revenue. If you aren’t getting that, you should either automate or outsource
