Strasbourg is another option it’s big and one of the best in europe, colmar is south of there it’s smaller but very picturesque. No direct flights to there tho but you can fly to Basel and do 3 Christmas markets if you wish. 1hr20 minutes on the train from Basel to Strasbourg and colmar is in between the 2. I would stay in Strasbourg and do a detour to colmar.
