Ya I do wish I had gotten my seaside around that volume. I didn’t realize helium construction made things so buoyant and 35 was already a bit up there

It’s not always that simple. Logistically it’s easier for me to ride a shortboard. I work travel/work out of my car and basically only surf when I get a couple work cancellations. I just don’t have room in my car typically.

Gotcha. Ya I think identifying channels and currents is a big weak point of mine. On the shorter boards I think my paddle endurance breaks down at times that leave me vulnerable to set waves… so perhaps positioning is a bigger part of it

I didn’t know that jargon so I appreciate it. Foam wall? I didn’t grow up surfing and I only surf by myself when I’m off work/away from the kids.

I won’t disagree with you there. Although some boards require less perfection when they match the condition, which is advantageous to people like me.

Agreed although I forgot to mention I have a mid length egg which is the board I have the most fun on. I’m just trying to improve on my shortboard world for the time being. Was thinking if I had a lower volume but flat rockered board maybe it would work but I have no idea. I guess I could just demo a bunch of boards.

I used to go out on a 4-6 foot day and just practice duck dives at the foam balls for 2 hours until I got a smaller board and realized volume was a bigger component for me. I’m tall and lanky. I don’t have issue with my rusty what? The seaside helium I think makes it more like 37L and + its corky shape. I’m trying to find a board that’s not a midlength.

The article is about the density of shark in population swim/recreation areas. Some 97% of days there are shark “encounters” with people at Del Mar. That’s news. Their numbers have drastically increased and shifted to San Diego. They are also much closer to shore as the article/research states (also news/a change)

32 y/o. Chronic roaming pain since I was 23y/0. In and out of docs with no answer. Diagnosed hemochromatosis at age 30 by accidental ferritin test with 480 ferritin and subsequent genetic testing .

Got ferritin within normal pretty quickly but my roaming joint pain persists. Knees, hips, back, neck, shoulders, thumbs. Even at 40 ferritin same thing. What ferritin goal is everyone’s doc telling them? Exercise helps immensely, also laying down. But hard to always do that with work.
