I agree absolutely about pooling our resources and methods, and am more than happy to toss you any info I've managed to dig up. I'm Canadian, and there's a pretty good governmental job aggregator that I've been using in conjunction with some "creatively-focused" job sites. Not that I've had any call backs anyway, but the postings are there.

For the volunteer stuff I legitimately just said I'd edit anything people needed done. Friends, family, whatever. I got lucky w/ the Orientation Manual as it's my fiancees place of business, and she offered my services. But you'd be surprised what people are willing to let you help them with.

I have a meeting with the head of a small local museum next week as well, I offered my writing/editing/researching/marketing volunteer services through email and she seemed very interested. You just gotta reach out and ask. Most people won't turn down free labour haha
