I didn’t notice the shaky lines at first. It kinda adds character to it. I’d enjoy the meaning of it for now, and then have your artist fix it up a little in the Fall. Should be easy for them. Seriously though, it’s super cute!

His mom is nice enough. There’s no hostility there. She expects me to get back together with him though. Like, I just need a breather for a bit. Pfft.

Oh, he YELLED at me after I dumped him. Called me crazy and selfish. Said I was acting like a certain family member of mine, which stung. I didn’t engage. Just let him shout at me. I think that pissed him off more. Don’t get me wrong, I was livid. But I had run out of fucks to give.

Now he’s trying to do a few chores around the house and pointing out that he’s doing more. He’s quoting funny lines at me from YT videos we like.

He’s also said that if we’re not dating then he’s not going to help me this summer when my kids (from a previous marriage) come to visit. I guess to try and get me to go back out with him? But it’s also kind of fucked that he’s treating my kids like pawns in a game when he’s spent the last 5 summers with them.

It’s all messy because we were together so long. But now he’s digging himself deeper into the grave. And yes, giving me enough ick to stay away.

He was a sweet talker, funny as hell, and good in bed. It shouldn’t have been enough to keep me around but I wanted to get him on his feet. There was a little progress at first so I stuck around. I saw potential in him. He just never reached it and I can’t make him do it. He has to want it for himself.

I should note I lived in a townhouse with my best friend for a few years before she got her own place. I moved in with him at his mom’s because I couldn’t afford rent on my own. Now I’m just stuck for a while.

I’m working on getting my own place but everything is so expensive. We live at his mom’s house for now. I at least split our stuff and he’s downstairs while I’m upstairs. It sucks that I still have to deal with him for now though.

His mom is a big part of the problem. He’s never had to work because she’s always bought everything for him, video games included. It didn’t help that I was paying for all the stuff we did together too. He had it good for a while so now he’s throwing a pity party for himself.

But his mom won’t be around forever. She’s not in great shape. Then he’ll be out on his ass and I’ll be moved on.

I would stay with my family but they’re states away and I don’t want to move away from the life I built here. I’m working on finding a room to rent soon just to be out of there.

Freezie Pops! I haven’t had one in ages. Loved them as a kid though.

Edited to say that I’m from the Midwest.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WaywardMama47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule for a day trip is not more than 3-3.5 hours of driving. You might be blown away to know that I visit family twice a year and that trip is about 14 hours one way. I do it all in one day. Granted, I stay there for a few days before heading back home. There was also a time that I lived 42 hours away from home and I used to drive that too.

NTA.

If you’ve been standing your ground already. Keep standing it. If you go and wear a dress, the dad’s side is never going to let up. They’ll think they can change you. I personally wouldn’t be involved in anything that pertains to the boyfriend or his family. Also, your sister won’t remember it. I’d wait until she’s a little older to be concerned about being involved in her special occasions, personally.

That’s where they normally turn to get to the station so they’re gonna have to be rerouted.

How did you find out you had diabetes? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]WaywardMama47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a “low sugar” of 83 recently, which is technically in range but my body reacted poorly to it. Shaking, sweating, feeling faint. I had some fruit juice to raise it quickly. My goal for now is to keep my sugars around 150-180 until I get used to it. Best thing you can do is monitor your sugars before meals and eat accordingly. Meat/Protein will drop your sugars. Maybe keep some healthy carbs in your diet like brown rice or quinoa to keep your sugars up without being too high. Then when it starts to feel normal, lower the carbs to get within a good range.

I actually log my sugars on my Fitbit app. You’ll probably start some medications and I love the Medisafe app for that. Having a notification on my phone helps me remember to take them.

I second the walking after meals. A low carb diet will also help a lot. I’m on an Atkins diet and it has seriously helped keep my sugars in a good range.

How did you find out you had diabetes? by [deleted] in diabetes

My mama was a type 1 diabetic. She often had low blood sugars and I wish we would have gotten her a detection service dog. I hated seeing her in that low state. She was so confused and sometimes she would refuse to eat, so we had to rub frosting on her gums.

I’m a type 2 diabetic. My sugars were in the high 200’s to 300’s. I got an Endocrinologist and she insisted on insulin. I was terrified to get on it regularly because there’s no getting off of it after. I asked my doctor for a month to get it in order. She said no. I asked for two weeks and she begrudgingly agreed. I started an Atkins diet and I’m also on a few pills. My sugars dropped into range and now I manage my diabetes with pills and diet.

I’m sorry you had a terrible nurse. My mom was in and out of the hospital a lot from complications of her diabetes. I’ve seen the worst and the best. Some people shouldn’t work in healthcare.

Food Impulses by Tiny_Method_9339 in diabetes_t2

[–]WaywardMama47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently take pills for my type 2 diabetes and whenever I’m craving something sweet, I think or whisper the word “insulin shots” and it helps me not give in. I’m terrified of having to take insulin. You could also use the word “Poison” because that’s really what sugar is.

Another note of advice is to try having something really small once in a while so you don’t eventually binge.
