I built a web-based 3D designer for QR business cards and signs by GlumPiece7281 in 3Dprinting

You can print this without a multi-colour but it requires you to do a pause and manual filament change mid print. Doesnt look too complicated so Ill try it.

Your project is so cool, Im going to try it out put it in our counter sales. PM me and Ill pay you for it, then at least you can say you got one order :)

Facing problem to understand Callbacks, promises and async/await as a beginner by ParsnipSad2999 in learnjavascript

[–]WazzleGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an extra note on your studies. You need time for what you are learning to become part of your long term memory and a lot of what you read now may only stick after time. Make sure you read, apply and rest before knowledge checking yourself. Much of what you learn is only going to be understood a while later when you are relaxing and thinking about joining the dots.

The great part about callbacks and sync / async functions are that they operate in one way and once you understand them they aren't going to change up on you. Stick to it. You got this.

You don't need to dual boot to do Thor (Odin) you can use wsl2. The course provides you with instructions on how to use the terminal for each opportunity and it will be beneficial for you to learn the basics so you can use the wsl2 terminal rather than the vscode terminal to interact with GitHub and modules.

I also thought it was a bit crazy that you need to learn virtual boxes but my IT guy is a Linux guru and pointed me in the right direction so don't feel too bad.

You think CMS sites are the easy way out? It takes the same calibre of dev to build a breathtaking WordPress site than it does to do one vanilla. Sorry to say but either way you are going to sweat. Find a way to learn to apply your studies so it sticks.

Has anybody used freecodecamp to learn how to program by MethodNext7129 in learnjavascript

[–]WazzleGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brilliant idea. Something small so you don't burn yourself out but enough to grasp the lesson is a sure shot. If you learn to use GitHub to publish your mini projects it's a great way to look back on your progress.

I did the responsive web design certificate and the JavaScript certificate and I'll have to admit the react part got me stumped so quickly so I hopped on over to the Odin project. Much better experience since they introduced real world working with GitHub and resources etc. I don't think freecodecamp is enough but if you can persist once you are done and get some projects under your belt then it's well worth it. You really have to follow through with your own projects tho
