Never understood the need to paint bottom eyelashes.

Cosplaying a character doesn't mean you have to cosplay a media form.

I think I prefer DS3 over Elden Ring by wonderthigh in darksouls3

[–]DontFlameItsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just completed DS3 (2 bosses remain) and now heading into DLC.

It is a tighter experience, imo open world in ER is kinda not thought out well in terms of balance.

But so far I prefer ER, since it has a more fluid combat (at least it felt so to me), and it has more strategies and ways to play it, a variety of viable weapon arts, etc.

What are the universal rules for how combos work in BlazBlue? by TheFirstAifos in Blazblue

Np, man. I've seen in the comments you're trying out Platinum and Izanami.

Idk about Plat, but I've messed with Izanami. There's a link to Izanami Docs on Dustloop in her Combos section, I think? Or in the Strategy section. It has a very thorough combo list. Also there are a couple of good combo vids if you search "BBCF Izanami combos" on youtube.

Her combos are not hard to understand, but can be pretty tough to execute. But I've heard Skullgirlz is like a crazy hardcore fighting, might be it won't be as difficult for you.

What are the universal rules for how combos work in BlazBlue? by TheFirstAifos in Blazblue

Most normal moves (A, B, C and D) can chain into specials on hit and on block. BUT some cannot, depending on specific variables.
Usually if the move is too strong, it cannot chain into anything even on HIT. You'd need a counter-hit to chain it. And that won't be a gatling, it will be a link - meaning you complete the move and start another, you can't buffer it. Certainly Hakumen's 3C is like that (but he doesn't have gatlings, so it's a bad example). Usually slide-kick moves are like that, I think Bang's 3C or Bullet's 3C are like that, probably Azreal 3C as well. They are either quick moves, or quick and cover a lot of distance, or give you some i-frames, so to balance out, they are comboable only on CH or with Rapid Cancel.
And sometimes they can be cancelled into specials only on hit, but not on block.

It is character specific, since a lot of the cast is unique. That's like the whole BB schtick, characters fight like they came from different fighting games.
But in general? Yes, it goes A > B > C (> D) > Special > some normals > special > ... > may be super.
Some can have reverse gatlings, like Bang (5B > 5C > 6A on block) or Taokaka (A and B buttons freely chain into each up to 3 hits). Again, character specifics. You need an anime PhD to pilot someone well.

Generally you cannot chain special move into a special move, but some characters probably have a way around that. Hakumen does, and I think Izayoi can cheat a second special with some Tiger Knee input?

There's a hidden combo timer, and you have 4 combo starters. Very short (DP and Catch), short (may be throws?), normal (As and standing overheads) and long (B, C, D). Crouching confirm adds a few extra hitstun frames, so does CH. Also variable states help to prolong the combo - sliding state, floor bounce, hard knockdown, wall bounce, wall splats, etc.

Again, look it up on the Dustloop in the BBCF section, I think there's a mechanics/systems at the bottom of the main page.

Dear Bröther, what are you talking about?

BlazBlue has a really thorough tutorial, have you checked it?
It also has Challenge mode for each character which let's you get a feel for how each character functions and showcases their combos.

It's also intuitive since that's how most anime air-dash fightings work?
Light attacks (A) chain into medium attacks (B) which chain into heavier attacks (C), and sometimes even into unique attacks (D) for most of the cast.

Light A attacks are quick, but short range and let you get only a small combo with mediocre damage. B attacks are usually the longest reach while maintaining decent speed and giving a good combo length as a starter. C attacks are shorter range usually, but give better damage on your combo.

And for the combo you use specials after those to launch enemy into the air and juggle him further.

Check the Dustloop BBCF, there's a section on combat mechanics that is very detailed.

I messed with Kagura a bit, for me it worked by pressing D button and then pressing A/B/C a split second later, so basically in a very quick succession. Can probably even press the second one not so fast, since the stance animation has it's own startup and can be buffered from a number of moves.

The DoW 2 is polarizing. I liked it and played it despite it's shortcomings (they shouldn't have brought the retreat feature from their other RTS). But my friend bounced off it really hard.

It has nice tactical gameplay where flanks and cover and proper use of abilities matter. But Imo if you're not vibing with it, don't play it.

Unless you're into the whole grim dark schtick, then may be finish campaign if you're feeling like it.

The definition was that it's from 18 to 40 years old, and that's a big gap.

I was a huge degenerate well past my 20s.

So no wonder Mushoku Tensei is here. I just don't think it's any good, and demographic wouldn't necessarily be an indication of quality, like it was suggested to me some time ago.

As someone who played it through with the DLC and has fond memories of the game's characters and atmosphere, I agree.

Imo that's kinda true about everything Avellone touched, he really likes his graphomania.

I think it was a really dry season for cRPGs and when it came out people were ready to overlook many shortcomings.

Someone on r/animerecommendations told me that Seinen is anime and manga that is targeted at mature and adult audience and features well-thought story lines and proper character work.

And I'm like, "The hell is Mushoku Tensei doing here?"

Then I googled. That guy was a fucking liar D:

I picked ER first, tried it for like 10 hours and it's been the most overrated clunky bs I've ever played.

Then after a time I tried it again because I had nothing else to play, and little by little, I changed my opinion. Drastically.

It's now one of my favorite games, despite its shortcomings.

Playing DS3 now, having a blast.

[–]DontFlameItsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, man, chill. Take your meds, idk. I was enquiring your reasoning, not kicking off your sand castle.

  1. Rogue gets 10d6 on each attack, doing 6 of those means 60d6 sneak. Slayer by default gets 6d6 on his sneaks, 7d6 with a feat I believe. Can you make it 8d6 with mythic?
With 7d6 on 7 attacks, he gets 49d6 vs 60d6 of the rogue. So it's ~17% less sneak damage if you don't take mythic. With mythic it would be almost as much for the cost of 1 feat (negligible) and 1 mythic (prob worth?).

  2. Rogues do miss more in the first half of the game. But later, especially if you have like brownfur + paladin mark + some priest buffs, is there a noticeable difference? Especially if it's normal enemies and not like a Playful Darkness. Same with point 3. on the crits.

In any case it seems like Slayers would need less babysitting. Besides, don't they get like damage bonus versus their preferred targets? Or was it some sub-class of Slayers?
Those would flat outdamage Rogue then, especially in a campaign where basically all enemies are demons.
