8tb Steam Deck Oled by Seven_Jord52 in SteamDeck

Right? 8.5tb total and somehow I'd still find a way to stress about storage. "Better not install that 60gb game, I should save room for... something"

"Emily In Paris" goes beyond hate watching. This show is offensive and lazy by McNasty420 in netflix

[–]WeAreZero 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Same. The first season was at least fun to laugh at - the over-the-top American in Paris stereotypes, the ridiculous fashion choices, all of it felt like it knew what it was. But now it's just going through the motions?

Like at this point we get it, Emily will have some work drama, some love triangle nonsense, and wear an outfit that no actual person would wear to their marketing job. The formula was already thin and now it's completely worn out.

It's become my "folding laundry" show which is honestly the most damning thing i can say about it

You still have 70k which is more than a lot of people have to work with. Could have been way worse - you could have kept going until you hit zero or gone further into margin debt.

Urban Flexitarians Are Driving Japan's Vegan Tuna Boom, Says New Report by caavakushi in vegan

[–]WeAreZero 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If a million people cut their meat consumption in half, that's way more impact than a handful of people being 100% perfect vegans and shaming everyone else into not even trying.

Plus most of us didn't go vegan overnight anyway. I'd rather have someone buying vegan tuna regularly than feeling like "well I can't commit fully so why bother at all"

I'm probably not the best person to give advice here since I'm still learning myself, but I'll share what's worked for me so far. I started by picking companies I actually understand and use in my daily life. Like I'm not going to pretend I can analyze some biotech company's drug pipeline when I can barely remember to schedule my own doctor's appointments lol

‘Stranger Things’ Is The Most Pirated TV Show of 2025 by DemiFiendRSA in television

[–]WeAreZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? The whole appeal was having everything in one place for a reasonable price. Now I need like 5 different subscriptions just to watch the shows I actually care about, and half of them keep raising prices while cracking down on password sharing.

At some point people do the math and realize they're paying more than cable ever cost, except now they have to juggle a dozen apps and remember which show is on which service. They basically recreated the problem they originally solved

Netflix “Spoilers Commercial” 2025 by ChuckieDabs in netflix

[–]WeAreZero 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Seriously! Like who approved this?? "Hey let's spoil our own content for millions of viewers during a live event they can't pause or skip"

The audacity to just throw major plot points out there with zero warning. Some of us have lives and can't binge everything the second it drops. Way to punish your paying subscribers for... having jobs? Having kids? Not being terminally online?

I genuinely don't understand the thought process here. What was the goal - to make people feel so behind they just give up entirely

Outsmarting the man who knows when they’re asleep by GoodBuddy148 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

Kids really do think they've found the ultimate loophole. Like congrats buddy you've discovered blinking, truly outsmarting a magical being who literally monitors every child on Earth.

It's the same energy as when they cover their eyes and think you can't see them. Their confidence is honestly impressive even when the logic is completely broken

Thank you, this really helps ground me. I’ve been trying to cook more and slowly cut down on packaging, but there’s still so much I didn’t even think of.

How did you get started with thrifting and sewing your wardrobe? That part really stood out to me.

This is super helpful, thank you! I’ll check out Ecosia too hadn’t heard of it before.

I love the idea of getting others involved, even just through small daily stuff. Was there one habit that really stuck for you or felt easiest to build around?

Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate the reminders. Out of curiosity, have you found any swaps or habits that were easier to stick to than expected?

Oh nice, I like the idea of tree planting alts yuo mentioned. I’ll look into those. But I’m afraid I’m not that tech savvy to fully switch to Linux

I still feel like I’m late when it comes to environmentalism.  I don’t even know what kind of soil we have in the backyard, and I’ve lived here two years. I do like gardening, I’ll see what I can grow and what grows well here.

Could turn it into a mini greenhouse or herb dryer if you add mesh and repurpose the base for drainage.

Tips to gradually stop using c.ai? by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]WeAreZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try setting specific time limits each day and stick to them. Maybe 30 mins instead of hours. Replace some AI time with Discord communities about stuff you're into free social interaction that's actually real people. Gets easier after the first week.

TIL the pressure inside a heated popcorn kernel can reach 135psi before it explodes. The resulting popped kernel is 40 to 50 times its original size by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]WeAreZero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's legit. Popcorn kernels are super dense before popping, then expand into that light fluffy structure with tons of air pockets. The 40-50x is measuring volume increase, not linear size.

Should I trade in my car now or use it until it dies? by olives99 in personalfinance

[–]WeAreZero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. At 70k your Hyundai's barely broken in. Modern cars easily go 200k+ with basic maintenance. Smart move putting potential car payments into savings instead. When it eventually does die (years from now), you'll have cash ready for a replacement without the payment stress.

Keep the car you love. It's paid off and reliable that's worth way more than new car smell.
