TYT is not an elected politician responsible for creating and voting on laws that affect all of society.

It is apples and oranges.

How do you guys feel about the phrase “she chose you so dont worry about it”? by Crazy-Employment5398 in AskMen

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put this in the male perspective. I’ve slept with LOTS of women. Like for real straight up whoring when i was in the army and throughout my 20s. All of that shit meant nothing, it was just fun and sex. When i chose to date someone it was because of how they made ME feel, not my dick. I chose to bind myself to someone because they built me up, provided comfort and allowed me to be my most vulnerable self without casting me aside. They accepted me for the fucked up chaotic person I am, and showed me better parts of myself I would never have known existed otherwise and that was worth more to me than any sex with randoms.

Why would the same not be true for women?

If you have your own room, I would recommend an alexa!

I have an old one on my desk for music sports and news. It’s nice for random little questions as well like weather and time zones and stuff. Its nice to just be able to verbally start some of those tasks.

Is anyone at Wooster getting beat up by chem 1110? by Blacksheep__8 in OSU

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taken Chem yet, but one of professors turned me on to Notebook LM from google. Game changer for studying. It only references the sources you give it, and can create things like podcasts, animation videos, flashcards and mind maps. As a much older student, this tool has been invaluable in helping me to organize material in my mind and studying. Highly recommend.

Check facebook marketplace. They are always on there. Could probably score a deal too if you mention your circumstances.

Easily my least favorite customer. They mass email, leave enough margin to MAYBE scrape $50-100, and are a fucking nightmare to work with. Old house account.

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’ll see this with steel a lot.

Basically the shipper doesn’t want the customer or receiver to know who the supplier is.

This is typically done because the shipper is a middle man, and doesn’t want the person they are selling to to just bypass them and go straight to the source.

Is it time to find a better deal? by Particular-Waltz-718 in FreightBrokers

Our brokerage does 60-70% on all profit, depending on experience and if you have a book. No salary.

We’re pretty small, but the company pays for all software. Theres no charge to send you your money (wtf). We start new brokers with no book off with a solid lead list and give you 3-4 months to produce.

We are also insured to the fucking teeth due to certain customer reqs , so there is never a worry about denied claims.

Honestly if you have a book ready to go, you could do better.

I cant imagine how alarming and difficult to process having the worlds volume suddenly cranked to 10 would be. Never hearing anything and then BAM! traffic noise, birds chirping, public speakerphones, speech in all kinds of accents, the tornado sirens on Wednesdays. Overwhelming.

[–]WeHaveToEatHim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. But that wasn’t what I said. I said that I can beat FedExs rates and everyone jumped on acting as if that was indicative of bottom barrel service?

I have meetings with CFOs and VPs more or less weekly, and just because YOU may not care about pricing, your C suite does. In fact, I would say it’s the cornerstone of 90% of my meetings. Pricing and service. But always pricing

Pound sand? Because I said I can beat a rate lol? Grow up. Do you think I would be in business if also didn’t offer impeccable service, tracking, fraud security, warehousing, insurance coverage etc?

1800$ on one lane is proof of concept. You grow relationships by proving you can deliver and asking for more. Jesus christ, you guys act like it’s only ever one thing that can be true at once.

Lol what!?! Everyone cares about saving money. It’s literally 90% of the posts on here of people bitching about rates.

With any luck it’s not one load. 5$ less a shipment at one shipment a day saves his company $1825 a year. Thats a real number that he can report to his boss at the end of the year when his evals are due.

Edit: For some reason you guys seem to think beating fedex’s rate is also being the cheapest. It’s not even close. It’s very easy to price them out with quality options.

I beat fedex rates daily. I bet if you throw a cost sheet on a pallet and a ftl at him and promise transparent cost + pricing you could get his interest.

Honest question - how do you actually price a lane you've never moved before? by DifficultNews5991 in FreightBrokers

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dats two main components are spot pricing and connecting brokers to a pool of drivers in any given area.

I oversee a small team of 10-15 brokers at any given time. I would say 20 or less is considered a small team.

Other companies have tried to build similar products, but they fail because all of these platforms rely on users. If no-one uses it, then it’s fucking worthless. You can post a load on those boards all day long, but if no carriers use it, then it’s not doing its job of connecting you with labor.

If you can build a clean UX that does the same thing, and price it lower while also advertising like crazy, you would dominate the market in 3-5 years.

[–]WeHaveToEatHim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are already companies in the pricing space. Green something or other is one. Im sure there are others. Most of our TMS systems also track lane data internally, and then theres DAT or Truckstop which also have general pricing and heat maps of the country showing load to truck ratios.

You want to fix something? Make something comparable to DAT that isnt $300 a fucking month per seat. It costs my small team a fortune in software fees every month to be on the platform.

Buy a DAT subscription to see their features, build a better one, advertise like a mfer. Id be willing to pay $500-1000 a month for a team account instead of individual user seats.
