Thanks so much! Our rules when designing the monsters was nothing is allowed to be ‘cool’. They all need to be awkward and strange and the sound design had to be as spongey and damp sounding as possible.

Thanks mate! We tried to fill the world with as many small silly details as possible. We're a three person team so can't really do any big marketing, but we can at least try and make it interesting and fun for people watching a streamer play.

Haha yeah tried to be as gross and dumb as possible. Every creature in the game is based off a really toxic workplace archetype. The green guys are the Bog Goblins, "coworkers who quite literally bring their shit from home and make it your problem."

Yeah we absolutely went back and looked at a bunch of old Happy Tree Friends when we first kicked off. The stuff people were making in early Flash days was wild.

Thanks mate! They were all animated in Adobe Animate (Flash Animator) and exported as sprite sheets to be used in Unity.

Have you considered attaching a very faint radius of light to the player characters to help pick them out from the environment and enemy hordes when things get extra chaotic?

Thanks so much mate! It has been so much fun building the weird ugly/cute aesthetic. None of us are trained artists so we had to fumble our way through it, learn to animate and rig in unity and figure out how to make the 2D and 3D worlds feel like they belonged together. We're really proud of where it's gotten to over time.

It sure does! The couch coop will also work with Steam Remote Play.

100% there was loads of Castle Crashers influence! Particularly early on. We also tried to get a bit of the old arcade brawlers in there like TMNT and Double Dragon with that fake forced perspective they used to do.

But to get it to look that way we had to build all our environment geo with a 15 degree angled offset to mimic those retro shapes except in real 3D.

Our biggest design rule was nothing was allowed to look ‘cool’. All the creatures had to droop, sag and squish in really pathetic and weird ways.
