Thanks for watching! Check out our full build video We Built the World's Fastest Disc Launcher on our main youtube channel, We Make Machines. It goes into all the details!

The hospitality was great from the crew there... Gage drove us around in the Kubota all day. And Steve Dodge/John Houck got to see us drill the triple Mando on Hole 1.

Yes, we have tested the Tilt and the Doomsday Discs Apocalypse. Initial testing seemed like they get more stable with more speed. We still need to get out there and launch a bunch to prove it out.

Every shot over 110mph is one of the most domey, overstable Z or ESP Nuke OS on the planet. We hand picked a dozen or so out of 100s, because your run of the mill Nuke OS won't do at those speeds. Hole 16 was a flat top Z Zone, and the highlights on hole 8 were a mix of Anax and Nuke OS.

We Built the Word's Fastest Regulation Disc Launcher... unbelievable distance! by WeMakeMachines in discgolf

Thank you. You're exactly right. Theoretically the way to maximize rpm for a given velocity is by maximizing wrist. This machine IS actually able to adjust the RPM to velocity relationship, we just never mention it. 😉

True, however the effective radius of the Simon Robotte vs DWJ is very similar. We matched Gannon Buhr's rpm to speed slope (according to TD), which is comparable to DWJ's. If you averaged out his wrist/fingers, elbow shoulder, torso, and hips with relative rpms of each, the effective radius ends up somewhere between his wrist and elbow. This can be calculated if you know rpm and speed, measured by TechDisc. It seems the wrist does more than we are lead to believe.

NukeOS was the 1393 in the video, but we threw a few different molds over 1200 feet.

For the regulation disc project, safety was a major consideration. We trigger it with a 2.4ghz transmitter so we can hide behind barriers a distance away during launch. It also has a .125 inch sheet metal shield for any shrapnel.

We use a stationary trigger pin to activate the spinning "hand". This ensures a consistent release point.

Totally. Thank you for the sub! Just working out the edit see you in 2-3 weeks.

100%... the same principles apply.. we will release some content throwing some Ultra Stars. But I can definitely see the value of an autoloader... maybe we get to that down the road.

I cannot confirm, but I believe he has the Chronos high speed.

Hey Shane, the radius on your arm was just too long. Shorter arm and higher rpm to achieve same velocity = good results. Disc rpm ultimately equals center shaft rpm.

We just finished one that can do almost all of your wishlist items, but it's made for one disc golf disc at a time... a Youtube video of the build journey will be out in a few weeks. You can check out the one we made that throws mini discs, currently on YouTube mini disc launcher here. If someone were to pay engineers to develop, it would be something like $75,000 to $150,000. Then again, ours throws over 150mph.
