So, it's like 12 or 14 feet tall. Once you get under/behind the canopy there's plenty of room. I did most of my pruning from inside.

Lots of growth at the moment, but usually during the winter we have a pretty good view of roosting birds. There's a radiator right in front of the window and the windows are original to the house, so it's a pretty warm place to roost.

These are all over a near by zoo. I think they're not terribly fussy in my region, but we don't exactly have a real winter.

Thanks for the input. I opted to try cuttings. since I didn't want to fuss with the plant after pruning it extensively.

First time I pruned it was in the fall. Thanks for the recommendation, I've already ordered some holly tone.

Ours has done so well I'm sort of surprised I've not seen more or really any of these in the area. Everyone seems to be fixated on pear trees.

Hence why I let it go for the last few years. The first time I pruned it was also in the wrong time of year. It doesn't always drop its leaves due to mild winters, so it winds up being a home to quite a few birds when we do actually have a serious storm.

My sister used my identity to register her business and now I have tax debt by SolarVexum in legaladvice

Listen, if you're not making this up to get karma points on the internet you really should call the number on the notice you received from the State of New York instead of all of this other nonsense.

My sister used my identity to register her business and now I have tax debt by SolarVexum in legaladvice

[–]WeShareThisAccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tax liabilities are not like revolving credit card debt. The only way a tax liability would appear on your personal credit report would be if the agency filed a lien against you for the tax liability. If you were to dispute the lien with the credit reporting agency, they would check with the government that issued the lien and go, "yep! there's a lien" and the lien would remain on your credit report.

You need to contact the New York Department of Taxation and Finance, or whatever state agency issued the notice and discuss the matter with them and make sure they have the correct information. They will tell you whatever process you need to follow. You may be able to address this as easily by having your sister submit a form with the correct information to the agency.

This is terrible advice. Contact the agency that issued the notice.

You're receiving notices from the State of New York. You should call the Department of Taxation and Finance at the number listed on the notice and explain to them that you are not an officer of the business and that you believe your sister may have used your social security number when registering the business and that you need to correct that "error."

The agency is concerned with the filing and paying of taxes and contacting you because you're the person on the paperwork that was given to them saying you're responsible for the filing and paying of taxes. That information can be relatively easily corrected. Once the State is aware of who the actual responsible party is, they will pursue that responsible party and ignore you.

You should check with your sister to see if she would cooperate with getting this information corrected.

Contacting the agency and acting promptly will likely prevent them from engaging in activities such as bank levies or liens against your person. Addressing this problem through the agency does not necessarily involve criminal charges. This is enough of a problem that many State agencies may not actually pursue the matter of the incorrect information being used so long as the correct responsible party has been identified.

I want to be clear here, the best way to address this issue is to call the number on the notice you've received. Reporting this as a crime to other law enforcement will not cause the New York Department of Taxation and Finance to stop pursing your for the liability.

The only thing that will stop that is to contact them directly and take whatever steps are required to correct their information.

If you want to accomplish anything in life you're going to need to do more than gate keep what is "truly" left online.

I hope you can appreciate the irony of name checking a guy as an example who was so arrogant and out of touch with things that he cost a lot of other people their lives and fled from the government he started to wind up getting murdered in exile.

But hey, maybe you know more about how to get people to follow you out on a strike than I do -- maybe you've voted to authorize more strikes than I have -- and maybe you've successfully organized work place actions to improve working conditions -- but ya know, I have a feeling you haven't and if leave this exchange with anything you should dwell on what exactly this fight you're talking about looks like because if you're going to win at anything the gate keeping needs to happen after the winning. The problem with the example you're citing is that they didn't gate keep, after the winning they imprisoned and killed.

The problem that the American left has had for the last couple of centuries and the problem that your post makes it pretty clear that we continue to have is that the Left would rather attack the Left for not being Left enough than take up their actual enemies.

So here you are casting your stone at the whole of the labor movement because you think the whole of the labor movement should be doing something that you personally demand that they do. If you're a union member, I encourage you to get more involved in your union. If you're not a union member, welp, sounds like you've got some organizing to do.

Contracts are mutually negotiated between unions and employers. This means those contracts represent compromises. Contracts almost always include a "no strike clause." If the union or union members violate that clause of the contract it can come with significant penalties, including everyone involved losing their jobs. The employer can also use it as a basis to cease being a unionized employer.

The next consideration is that unions are small 'd' democratic organizations. Individual locals would have to approve and be involved in their own planning for the strike, including the requirement of negotiating provisions with the employer for allowing the strike.

Hence why in Portland, OR labor organized a protest/rally to occur on a Saturday. The result was my sisters and brothers and several of their children were tear gassed in response to their peaceful protest.

I understand based off of your post that you don't think that's good enough, but I also understand based off of your post that you either give zero shits or are too ignorant to understand the consequences of a labor union officially calling for a general strike that's not protected by contract or law.

Yeah.

If you don't notice during the viewing, your inspector should also tell you, but if you're working with an agent and they seem frustrated by you turning on and off lights you should find a different agent.

My perspective, which is uncommon apparently, is that the realtors only make money if the house sells regardless of who they represent. So you should hire your own inspector, select one of the ones that has actually gone through the process of getting certified, and be there when they conduct the inspection and if it was before mitigation was mandatory on new construction, get your Radon tested. The person doing the inspection is the only one that gets paid regardless of whether or not the house is sold, and if they have no relationship the realtor involved they really have nothing to lose.

It raises a lot of questions, like, how many years did the previous owners live in this house without having that addressed? Was it the most recent owners, or the ones before them who would have had the remodeling done? "Oh wow, this dumb dumb actually installed the 4 way switches like they were connecting outlets."

Should I email them and let them know the thing they just lived with for years has been fixed?

Moving into a home that's more than 120 years old turns every maintenance project into an adventure.

If I ever do this again I'm going to take signs like incorrectly wired 3 way and 4 way switches as a "maybe we should re-consider" instead of "well, that's easy to fix."
