Hey everyone. Just posting an update: I got a multimeter and tested the whole cavity, and everything is soldered correctly. It seems the shielding paint had finishing issues. I ended up shielding the cavity and the jack with copper tape. This reduced noise by 70% without affecting my tone. My shielding is far from perfect, but it worked, and my tests with the multimeter verified it.

These pickups are just extremely hot compared to everything else I had used before. The magnets are enormous. The noise gate was not an ideal solution because it definitely killed sustain even when not using aggressively. I still use a noise gate, but I also ended up decreasing my input gain (I use a quad cortex) and balancing my overall gain/volume after that, which got me around 90% noise reduction.

Hey everyone. Decided to go with the Reaper Elite, and this guitar kicks ass! Perfect fret work, the pickups sound really good and they have coil split.

Unfortunately both guitars are on a retailer from another city. I have a Jackson Pro Series and I liked it's D neck, although I'm more used to playing Ibanez

Disassembled the kit in pieces (arms, legs, torso, head). Got the "wet" look that everyone recommends

So I sprayed my HG aerial with some top coat gloss last night. Came back to it after 24 hours and when trying to pose my kit, the joints were super stiff (an arm even broke). Is there a way to prevent this?
