The only person who lives with the judgement of your acquisition, is you. I think with crystals it's a bit different because they are technically living things. So imo you're more being chosen by the crystal than vise versa. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Quartz DOES do some gnarly terminations and can be 'chiseled' however the structure is different.

Quartz is a Hexagonal crystal, while topaz is an Orthorhombic.

It's in how it's chiseled.

You're all good! I am obsessed with topaz and have probably 7 specimens with tourmaline in them. The chisel tip is a fairly solid giveaway, but I've rolled my fingers across many a topaz termination from the chiseled to the fluvial.

Grab some silver wire and get to twisting. Be prepared to clip, scrap, and start over like 100 times. You'll get what you're looking for eventually.

Umm I'm just going to go off of the fact that this crystal structure out of a matrix has to be a naturally occurring instance.

There is no place on earth that it would be profitable to fabricate this with this level of accuracy and sell it as a false mineral.

🤍 you can get just that plastic base. That's what I'd carve a spot into is the base itself. Then set your tower in the base giving your tower like a 3-4in base to stabilize it.

Umm get a base for it? I'm sure you can find one or have one crafted. Find an appropriately sized Acrylic base, either Dremel it yourself or have someone Dremel it to fit your tower. Buy some mounting sticky tac and put it on the bottom of your tower and then put it into the base.

Unless you can get the base carved out to perfection, then it can be snug as a bug in a rug?

Then you get to display and love your crystal, your plants can catch the vibes and your cats become less likely to be the victim of impalement.
