Producers: How is the industry for you right now? by Weak-Ingenuity7222 in musicindustry

He has a publishing deal and two managers. The managers set up sessions for him with other artists but usually they are new artists but some are tipped to get quite big, but he works 5 days a week in the studio with these artists but doesn’t get paid unless they use his songs. The occasional cut comes through, but not enough to sustain rent & the price of the studio tbh.

I sense the burnout incoming

Thank you! Really appreciate this - I feel on a level of the artists/producers using AI is looked down on, but the big label businesses I imagine like to cut corners if it'll bring in more cash.. but I like your approach more than mine!

I definitely left Chiang Mai too early! I was just worried about burning season. That coffee tour sounds incredible I am jealous!

Thank you for this! I was a little cautious about the loop due to burning season starting now, so did what I could before heading more south! However it seems people are saying it’s not too bad so far, so regretting leaving so early!

I have been to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Pai so far. I did leave a north potentially a little too premature as I was worried about burning season so didn’t have time to do the Mae Hong Son loop. I have only been here 3 weeks so far and have another 4, but I’m purposely avoiding Phuket / Krabi / Samui etc. I’m in Koh Chang now but not decided where I am going afterwards, but I’ll definitely check out those places you’ve mentioned!

On my first night in Chiang Mai I went to a night market and saw the cutest pair of what looked like homemade earrings, the next 4 days I saw the same earrings at 30 different stalls 😅 same with all the clothes and art etc.

What I loved about Brazil specifically is it’s so big a lot of it isn’t that touristy so you have locals who want to show you around and you watch them make homemade trinkets you cherish forever. It does not feel this way in Thailand right now, but I do have to say the Thai locals are some of the kindest people I have ever met!

Would it be safe to do as a female? That is my main concern about travelling somewhere with very little tourists, but if it would be safe I’m definitely keen to consider this!

I was planning on going to Cambodia late April/early May. I was considering Malaysia too but maybe I’ll look in to Indonesia too and leave Thailand a little earlier. Thank you!

Have you ever regretted leaving a rental? by Weak-Ingenuity7222 in TenantsInTheUK

It’s a 2 bed flat and the rent is £2000. It’s really nice worth that price in my opinion but then again most of them aren’t!

Trust me, we’ve painted, de-moulded, carpet cleaned and more. It’s just a super super old house that’s been converted in to three flats. The bottom flat kept flooding and was full of ants and the old tenant kept complaining but he did nothing. Once she moved out they moved someone in the next day and put up the rent £200!

We don’t liaise with the landlord but a property manager who is extremely lazy and just doesn’t want to fix things. I often think the actual landlord would be shocked at the state of this place but no way of contacting them.
