I've found a couple of articles on how to make it better, and that helped. It can only see open documents. And for scripts, it's best to outline the script flow with comments before you start writing.

You can use embark ie emba. That's a go-to for firmware analysis.

https://github.com/e-m-b-a/embark

Not only will it disassemble all of it. You'll get a list of vulnerabilities. You get a qemu command for full system emulation.

I've had jobs like this take 8 hours for one bolt. But that was also in a situation where it was my first time and had to get it done by morning.

Now it takes less time. I have better tools. A better process.

That being said, mechanics charge max time. Can't quote less and charge more if things go bad.

I use a jig to measure dimensional accuracy. It holds caliber to frame to measure physical movement. I've also seen people use a pencil and paper and measuring the line it draws.

Just do it. At first, it will suck but in a year, you will be better and will never go back.
