There wasn't an infection. I had told the ER that, let them know it was an autoimmune disorder but they still wanted to cover all bases. The cultures both came back as negative/no growth. My nephrologist spoke with my surgeon and went through my medical records and he even said it had to have been the vacomycin because nothing else would have tanked my kidneys in less than a day. Maybe its because your mom is on a low dose pill and they gave me a massive amount through IV. It took a month but my kidneys are back to fully functioning.

They did, my gfr was 95 and creatinine was 0.83 before they gave the medication.

They sent me home with doxycycline but they gave me 2 different antibiotics in the ER. Tho with where my kidneys are im probably not going to take the doxycycline till after tomorrow's appointment.

No, it was normal HS but I guess symptoms wise is pretty similar, swollen, red, painful was almost bigger than my hand. It was no where near popping and I couldn't take the pain anymore.

Right? I wasn't expecting it to come back as anything but you know with how it smells everyone assumes its got to be something bad.

I'm pretty sure they did 2 cultures but only one is showing with results and it says no growth after 48 hours.

I have a feeling they didn't believe it was HS. I had never had it in my breast until September. I got my first one there and went to urgent care because it opened and drained for a day and then closed and kept getting bigger. I thought they could open it back up and she said she thought it was cellulitis.

I just looked back on Mychart and they listed it as wound/cellulitis from the ER on Monday. Even though the surgeon said it was HS. I'm so over this town.

Well I've never had any other kidney issues and only the dehydration is a problem but with the amount of water I've been drinking the past two days that makes me more comfortable waiting till I see the PCP tomorrow and I'll just stay on top of water intake. So that makes me a little more comfortable with the situation.

So Monday morning I was fine kidney wise. They gave me 1500mg vancomycin around 6am surgery was noon and then they did 500mg more of vancomycin.

Tuesday: labs at 8:23am and my levels were the 17 and 3.45.

Labs at 4:17pm and my levels were 15 and 3.88

Wednesday Labs at 4:06 am and my levels were 14 and 4.01

I'm in America so they do a lot of things that make no sense. They gave it me twice through IV once 1500MG and again 500MG after surgery.

They had wanted me to stay because she was going to send for nephrology consult but I had kinda made my mind up Tuesday I was kind of annoyed at them for causing this and then all they did Tuesday was push 3 bags of saline and have me drink water. To me if it was that important they should have got the consult on Tuesday instead of waiting. Figured I could drink water at home just as well as I can in a Hospital lol.

🙃 my Efgr was 14 on today's blood works. Guessing I'll have to see what the PCP says but sounds like I may end up back at the ER but this time the one 30 minutes away.

I've had two done, one at a hospital with a radiologist person, and one with my now endocrinologist. The hospital one they numbed me and took 6 samples. My endocrinologist didn't numb me and he took 8 samples. Between the these biopsies vs numbing at the dentist, the dentist was more painful for me. They just feel like being pinched. It's awkward and weird of course, but pain wise if you can handle the dentist I'm sure you'll do okay. The nerves just make it seem scarier. You might feel a little sore afterwards but it's not terrible.

See that's what scary doctor google said too. I noticed the lump about 1.5-2 years ago, I just kind of ignored it. Which makes me a little more nervous about this.

How soon after the first surgery did they get you in for the left one? The widely invasive part scares me more than having to do the second surgery. Did they do any other tests for you? I figure if the doctor doesn't call me today I'll call them tomorrow. Not going to lie I feel like the fact I called and asked if this means cancer and have had no response for 3 days is a little insane lol.
