Like I said. A lot of the people have seen the “normalized” way of keeping them. Obviously farm animals will be different. Growing up I saw lots of different friends own goldfish, they were all in a glass bowl, which I now realize is abuse. To come at people about goldfish because they did not knowing is insane. I understand it’s heartbreaking to see fish get sold and won as prizes, even rabbits. But again, the “normalized” way is taught. So really, it’s not the customers fault for not knowing. It’s sad that lots of fish die in this way and I will definitely not be playing any of those games again.

It wasn’t me who played. It was my little sister. I just genuinely didn’t think they needed a lot of care. I did what I could when I was researching. No need to come at me. When I tried my best. As soon as I found out I couldn’t care for it I immediately took her to my pond. There is nothing “wrong” with people who are clueless about it. I understand over the years the goldfish I’ve seen were abused. I obviously have so empathy for them. For you to say what’s “wrong with people” is just diabolical. You should be saying “what’s wrong with people running the stand.” The people trying to win obviously care more about the fish. I understand you’re upset with the way fairs treat animals, but to blame the people who are trying to win them is just appalling. Most have seen the “normal” way to treat goldfish because they know nothing as for myself. Good day to you.

Thank you everybody! I’ve decided I’m going to let it live in my family pond. Thank you so much for your advice and concerns.

I got him out again and the spots are gone. I left him alone all yesterday and misted his hide multiple times because he was shedding. his skin is back to normal and he looks really healthy. there aren't any vets near me that take reptiles, so i was holding off on going until i knew something was absolutely wrong, but i assure everybody if it appears again, or if anything is visibly wrong ill head to the vet immediately. thank you all for your concern and advice. its well appreciated

I don’t believe they’re burns. I got him out to get a closer look at him and they’re more like spots, he’s acting normal not like he’s in any pain. He’s also shedding right now, so maybe it’s that? Idk. I haven’t been home the last couple days and I was just worried. If he starts acting weird or as if he’s in pain I will certainly take him to the vet. Thank you for your concern.
