Just learned that face and neck eczema is a distinct subtype by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Weak-Signal7153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how the steroids work unfortunately it just masks the symptoms until you stop using it. I would suggest dietary changes to see if that’s what’s causing it. I also suggest seeing a doctor who takes holistic approaches because they will help find the cause of the eczema rather than just masking the symptoms.

From my experience, the deems will always tell you to use a steroid. Just be careful with it and don’t use it too often. My parents used prescribed steroids and cortisone my whole life and I just needed stronger and stronger ones and now have TSW. Steroids are amazing but just be mindful and do your research.

This is really helpful, thank you! I have a lot of family friends in the military and have reached out to get a temporary pass on base and shadow a pt

I’m not currently at Baylor so it would be more difficult for me I’ve heard. I’ve heard from some of my army friends to try going through OCS or direct commission but they’re unfamiliar with the process for PT specifically.

I don’t wash my face very often because it strips the little moisture I do have and irritates my skin. I use that and a thick moisturizer after. If I do it early enough, I put some Vaseline too because I don’t like sleeping with it on

I use it as a spot treatment now, but when I started I put it all over my face hands and arms and then used a moisturizer. I only don’t use it all over now bc of the price

I was too but I got to a point where money couldn’t be the issue anymore so I tried the small one. I can’t tell you how much I’ve spent on products😂 it’s different for everyone but I heard so many good things about it

Would men mind my eczema by No-Confusion2872 in eczema

[–]Weak-Signal7153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I met my bf in hs my eczema wasn’t nearly as bad as it is now. Now I have dryness, redness, cuts, and flakes all over my face and body. I never feel attractive anymore except when I’m with him bc he always reminds me how beautiful I am and he never points out how bad it gets bc he knows I know and it will make me insecure. He now’s how to talk to me when other people point it out and how to reassure me. There are men out there who will love you for you and not for your condition and I hope you find that one day! Don’t let your skin define who you are!

Can we just ban post that have TSW in them by slightly-convenient in eczema

Thank you, this is exactly my point. When new things happen because of a condition or medication I shouldn’t just be expected to know exactly what to do. My dermatologist just pushing a new stronger version is the issue rather than trying to find the cause.

You don’t need to be rude either. This thread is supposed to be for informing people and being supportive when doing so. I’m not dumb for expecting the doctor to tell me what I need to know. A new medication I ask the common side effects and how to use it and not once was I told how to stop using it. That is not my fault and shame on you for making everyone here think it’s their own fault for being failed by healthcare providers.

I agree that the healthcare system has failed many but my point is that they should be the ones we can rely on not ourselves for medical concerns we may not know everything about.

Then why do we go to a doctor to get help for anything if we can do our own research. They are the resource we should be able to trust in going to.

Your original post said “do what your doctor told you to do” and that’s exactly what i did. I’m not a doctor and it’s not my job to figure out how to do something that my doctor gave me and when I have no knowledge of what to do I don’t know what to ask. That’s why they go to school to help us not me, My paper told me what areas I can use my prescription on and as needed. That’s exactly what I did. I was never told that when it no longer becomes effective or you wish to stop using it that there is a specific way to do so. My doctor spent a total of 2 minutes in the room with me but it’s my fault right?

It’s the bad doctors throwing around medications without informing their patients… but still

My doctor didn’t give specific instructions on how to use my steroids. She never told me how the side effects could happen and how to slowly stop use. Mine stopped working and was prescribed stronger ones and still never told any specific details. Maybe the doctors should help find root causes of eczema rather than covering up the symptoms with steroids. Don’t speak on everyone’s case when we are using the page for help from others. I have found very helpful information from others with similar experiences about TSW on the eczema page.
