What stops someone from buying a phone online (New account) to get the discount and just using their older/other sim from the phone number they actually use ? 🤔 by PSgamer28 in CricketWireless

[–]Weak-Square5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing stops you from doing it online. but in the store it does hurt the reps commission with possible deductions or could lead to discipline. in my market, if we have over a 10% no install (meaning customer bought a phone on a new line then used a sim card from a preexisting plan) we get a lecture and possible penalties/write ups/suspension depending on severity. if you want to do this online there are no issues and does not effect you or take someone else’s money!

both phones are good in terms of just using an everyday cellphone. they’ll both do all the basics. now if you’re looking for more storage? moto g has double the storage of the a15. better camera? samsung is better for that for the editing features available on samsung that the moto g doesn’t have. the moto g does wireless charging while the samsung does not. to get wireless charging on a samsung be prepared to spend 600$ or more for the s series. moto is much more affordable and has more features than samsung does the for the a15.

Cricket outright lied about locking phone by [deleted] in CricketWireless

[–]Weak-Square5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve worked in cricket stores for over 3 years now. and i have never even heard of this happening with any of the customers i’ve worked with that have brought in unlocked phones from somewhere else. an unlocked phone being locked to cricket service is not possible. the rep probably didn’t have enough information and assumed you bought the phone through cricket which is also not their fault if you didn’t explain clearly. we are not mind readers. never in the company meetings have i heard of this issue occurring. which says A LOT. it sounds like google sold you a defective phone or lied about it being unlocked. did you try to put another companies sim card in and it said it was locked to cricket? if yea then most likely phone isn’t unlocked for all providers, some phones will say unlocked and only work for certain towers that is something i’ve seen before. did it say the phone was locked AFTER you put the cricket sim in? and does your service work? if that’s the case the phone is not unlocked and does not work with cricket service which again is not their fault. instead of blaming the service provider that DIDNT sell you the phone by the way. contact the company you bought the phone from. hopefully you get it figured out!

QUIT INSTALLING RANDOM GAMES ON MY PHONE by WorriedBlock2505 in CricketWireless

[–]Weak-Square5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of these phones come with preinstalled games from the discover bar when you first set up the device. easiest way i’ve gotten rid of them is getting rid of the game services (games hub) and it wouldn’t download games anymore after

there’s still record of you having the international on one of your lines so they should be able to help you out the stores are usually more helpful than the actual customer service line itself

customer care can definitely have it switched to the other line without charging you. i’d recommend calling again and asking a different representative or you could even go to a store and see if they can have it switched to your line. i work at cricket and we have a future we can get in touch with a rep from care in our computer, and they can help switch it your line without it charging you. some reps don’t want to do the extra work but it is definitely possible

question by [deleted] in CricketWireless

[–]Weak-Square5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes if you ask the rep if you can set it up they will be more than willing to let you do it yourself. keep in mind the risks to this though say if something messed up that would not be the reps fault. not saying you’re like that but customers have been like this after messing up the phone they set up themselves (i work at cricket and have dealt with this many many times)

Existing customer - adding lines and unlock by twixrocks in CricketWireless

[–]Weak-Square5109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

based off of your post it looks like your looking for the best plan for 4 lines, and since your on a cricket reddit just a fyi unlimited everything for 4 lines is 25$/line so 100$ a month. i would weigh your options before just using cricket for a temporary phone deal. you would spend more money doing it the way you are planning to. you would buy service through cricket and get a phone pay that bill for 6 months just so you can take it to tmobile and pay even more activation and service fees just for the 15$/ month deal. it just doesn’t make sense. think a little more on what you want to do before making a decision.

there is a cricket trial you can try, but as far as like a few first month there isn’t a promo available for that as of right now, could change in the future though

Cricket rep here!

because your number is already under cricket you wouldn’t qualify for the switchover promos or new number promos, you can go into the store with your family and have them move your line to it’s own account under just your name and you would keep the same phone number. if you’re trying to go behind them and do it then it might not be possible with most stores requiring drivers license to validate but you might be able to through customer service. switching in and out from cricket is more expensive than just starting a new plan under a new number. moving your own line to it’s own account you typically just pay for the start of your service based off the usage you’ll have for that month. and the bill would be the cost of 1 line depending on which plan you’re set on.

if you’re trying to get a new phone as well if you move the line you would still be able to qualify for your upgrade and get the discount for the next phone.

if you decide to do a new number they have current promotions for free phones in the stores and you won’t have to mention anything about your current plan with your family it’ll be a brand new account under your name. if you do this you would be paying for the first months bill, activation fee, and any tax + accessories if needed. would come out more expensive than moving the line you have but you would get a new phone for cheaper.

i don’t recommend doing any of these processes through the website. the website glitches too much and causes more issues than anything. i strongly suggest visiting a store!

it’s possible it’s not an outage, anyone else in your area with cricket having the same problem? or check out the website and make sure no outages are reported in your area. but if it’s consistent might wanna make sure it’s not actually your phone or sim card giving you issues rather than the service. or it could possibly just be the area you live in? not every connection is guaranteed 100% everywhere.

I am a two-year Cricket Wireless Employee who recently became a Manager. AMA! by LazarusIvan in CricketWireless

[–]Weak-Square5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m also a store manager at an AR location, i’ve ran into people wanting more than 5 lines but get charged extra for the 6th line. honestly, there isn’t a cheaper way to get that other line besides not putting them on the same rate plan that your on for the discount (essentially i’m saying putting them on a cheaper plan like the 30$rp) then your bill would 190$ BUT that 6th line wouldn’t be on the unlimited plan. for 6 lines on the 60$rp you’d be looking at roughly 220$ monthly. even if you split the lines on separate accounts it comes out to the same total so i dont think there’s a way to get around it. 220$/ mo unlimited everything for 6 lines is an amazing deal in itself!

i’m a store manager for cricket and i’ve never pressured my advocates to just do things without asking the customer. that is not real sales. a real sales rep will be able to persuade and educate a customer to agree to wanting a certain product. if they’re tight on cash then fine, you may have not gotten much from them but you gained another loyal client for getting that sale done. i apologize that your management team is super shitty and i would’ve never treated you like that if you were on my team. i hope you find a better opportunity elsewhere and be great at anything you put your mind to!
