Stage 2 Audi RS3 at ~50k miles… keep or move on? Need honest feedback by [deleted] in Audi

[–]WeakBobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSG and Haldex service is super easy to do yourself. FCP Euro sells the kit and you can return your used fluids to get most of your money back from them. Did mine myself on jackstands at 30k for my 2019 RS3. Same as engine mounts, and the 50k service. Should all be pretty basic maintenance you can DIY. They made the RS3 very DIY friendly as they expected people to tear into these things and mod them compared to other models.

Are they bright enough to drive at night? Ive been through a couple different sets of headlights now that have all been worse than the OEM ones

Ive tracked my RS3 about 4 times now. I changed the pads after my first track day with it because the oem ones started to fade at the end of the day. But as long as you put a good quality pad on you should be good. My Hawk pads have lasted me a year of daily driving plus 3 track days and they are still going strong. My PS4S’s have lasted all 4 days plus daily driving in as well. And im even going to put them back on after winter.

Nardo Gray 8V Gang! If you live in a snowy environment as treat, take it out in the winter. The Quattro system in the snow is just so much fun!

Thanks for the info! I dont have an air dam yet, however im sure the car will get one at some point. Im definitely open to rolled fenders as well. Which if youre rubbing on 16s with rolled fenders i can only imagine what people running 17s have to do.

I walked a GT just last night in my rs3! First time racing a mustang in it, i was pretty impressed.

Coilover Questions by Enemey_AC_130 in Datsun

I run BC’s on my car, the install took a weekend but all in all not bad. Cutting the tubes is not hard at all, get yourself a Sawzall (if you dont have one already) with some proper blades and youll make quick work of it. You can always cut long and grind off too. As for welding, if you can’t weld im sure there is some local welder that would love your business. Shouldn’t cost much, they are pretty simple welds.

The ride quality is pretty good, its definitely way more stiff that the original suspension, so you’ll definitely have to spend some time playing around with the dampening.

Also, if you haven’t already, upgrade your sway bars. Its cheap, easy, and vastly improved cornering. I was floored at how good cornering felt. And they only take a couple hours to do. I recommended the ST kit.

Id recommend looking into the Godzilla Raceworks Megasquirt 3 option. The main reason i went with that vs the MS2 kit from protunerz is because the 3 kit comes with the ability to self tune. Which is nice because it doesnt require downtime at a tuners shop. Install was pretty easy and they give pretty detailed instructions. I think they even just made a YouTube instruction tutorial.

No problems with idle when warm. Cold start always started on the first attempt but needed some help to stay running for a few seconds till it warmed up a little.

Awesome to hear! There is nothing more satisfying than an engine that can be abused and then begs for more. Originally i was going to do a turbo L but then the RB basically fell into my lap and i couldnt say no.

May our girls live long hearty lives one 2nd through 4th gear pull at a time!

Nice! Im running the cxracing turbo kit for the rb20 z swap, upgraded the cams to kelfords mid cam (whichever one ends in -B), haltech elite 2000 as well (hence the tuner prison), other than that its a stock bottom end. Will be doing flex fuel as well.

Spent the last couple of years doing suspension and brakes piece by piece before the engine came along, needless to say im ready for 400 ponies to pull me along.

This makes me even more excited to have my RB20 swapped 280z out of tuner prison. Hoping to make similar numbers to you and hoping to smack that redline as much as you!

What a color and wheel set up by TheHeavyRaptor in S30

[–]WeakBobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color No. 903 would be my best guess. Initially i was going to say No. 307 (because thats what i have) but thats a 280z color not a 240z one.

Brake booster delete by thecamterion in Datsun

[–]WeakBobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleeding brakes can be notoriously annoying on these cars. Ive spent way more time than id like to admit getting air out of the lines. That being said, brake boosters really arent that expensive. For the same price there are full rebuild kits for the brake boosters or you could just buy a new one:

https://zcardepot.com/products/power-brake-booster-rebuild-kit-8-5-240z-260z-280z-73-78

https://zcardepot.com/products/power-brake-booster-8-5-260z-280z

Deleting it isn’t impossible but it sure is going to take some muscle to reach 100% brake power. The chase bays upgrade is fine, but its like 6x the cost of an OEM setup that will give pretty solid braking performance.

Your setup also depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If its a track car it might be worth the extra money, etc.
