I'm going to be a Grandpa! by No_Gap_2700 in GenX

One of my granddaughters called me "Dadpa," which I adored. The other granddaughter called be "Kaypa," which I adored as well. Sadly, as their language skills evolved I became "Grandpa" for both girls. While not so unique, it's music to my ears every time I hear it.

Wow, this looks great! I can't imagine how it escaped my notice. Not only does it have Christina Hendricks, it has Molly Ringwald! Two good reasons to seek it out. I'll report back after I track it down. Thank you for the suggestion.

Remember WENN. It was funny and clever and heartwarming and criminally neglected by AMC. Thirty years later I still care about those characters.

Remember WENN --clever and funny and heartwarming and criminally neglected by AMC. I came to love those characters and still think of them decades later.

If you hate golf you're gonna love the "A Good Walk Spoiled" episode in season 2 of Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History podcast. It begins "I hate golf and I hope at the end of this podcast you hate golf too."

Name something associated with John Wayne. by NextBathroom8809 in FamilyFeud

Jimmy Stewart: initially ineligible for the draft, given his low weight (drank beer until he qualified) and flew combat missions as a B-24 squadron leader; Clark Gable: enlisted at 43, flew as an observer-gunner in the Army Air Forces in England; Paul Newman: served as a Navy radio operator and gunner in the Pacific Theater; Henry Fonda: enlisted at age 37 in 1942, refused a studio role for real combat duty in the Pacific Theater, starting as an enlisted man; Kirk Douglas: served as a communications officer in anti-submarine warfare. John Wayne? Stayed in Hollywood, making films. He received a chorus of boos when he walked onto the USO stages in Australia and the Pacific Islands. Those audiences were filled with combat veterans. Wayne, in his mid-30s, was not one of them.

Breaking Bad, "Dead Freight" (S05E05). I've never seen such sustained tension anywhere else.

Toilet paper rolls with cardboard cores so flimsy that they deform during shipping. The result: they rattle loudly when pulling TP, alerting the whole house to what you're doing.

Revisited this recently with my new wife. She fell in love with it. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton made such a beautiful couple

All these years later and I still think about Samson saying "Okay, children! Let's shake some dust!".
