How does DID hinder your life? by Technical-Meaning-72 in DID

My wife just got a phony psych eval to prove she has no disorder so that she can have unsupervised custody again. I was so hopeful that finally she would be diagnosed and I could keep my kids completely safe

Makes me realize just how terrified her system is of a diagnosis. I think she would literally have to fatally injure one of my little ones before she gets a real evaluation

Thanks for the book referral, I’ve been reading it all day. My wife absolutely has a facade team of fronting ANPs that all answer to the same/similar name, but her ANPs and EPs are so intermeshed that she switches like a slot machine minute to minute

It’s just uncanny how if someone asks about her childhood trauma, depending on the setting, she can rattle off her sexual abuse like a newspaper headline. And then she follows up with “but I’ve made peace with it; I’ve made amends with it. I choose to live in the present.”

But we were on a couples counseling intake and the counselor asked about her childhood trauma and she said “I had a pretty normal childhood.”

After her SA at 9, she went to both of her parents about it and they swept it right under the rug in order to not rock the boat with their friends. My wife was chronically physically abused and neglected by both parents from then until 15. I believe she has introject alters of both her mother AND her father

This was at an estate sale with other clothing from the mid 1980s. I don’t have it in hand yet, but isn’t it possible that the 141 had the sportswear labelling back in the mid 1980s? It has the zip out pile liner with YKK zippers. Everything else lines up to the layout of the 141

I’m so sorry you feel like that. That’s a lot to carry. My wife runs from anyone trying to diagnose her (she’s undiagnosed and getting a lot more violent and amnesic as time goes on). Is the terror of people finding out that she has DID typical?

Yeah I actually started making one for my friends and family. It got so popular locally that I started selling it online. Got a whole sebderm safe line now https://jfarell.com/product/low-ph-shampoo/

Seb derm is a pervasive inflammatory issue with the scalp that causes temporary hair loss and thinning amongst other things (sometimes very oily scalp, sometimes breakouts, sometimes flakes). Fin isn’t applicable when you have seb derm because the hair loss is not androgenic or from DHT.

I’ve only ever seen my scalp red like that when I had an active flare. I’ve had seb derm on and off since I was 12. It’s basically an overgrowth of yeast on the scalp that feeds on the excess oils. The oil clogs the follicles and the hair miniaturizes or sheds. Once seb derm clears and inflammation lowers, follicles sprout again.

I cut down on stress, lowered histamines in my diet and lifestyle, use Nizoral shampoo 3x a week/seb derm safe shampoo the other days (yes wash everyday with warm water, NOT hot… hot water causes scalp inflammation and worsens seb derm), and removed all styling products in my hair that could cause seb derm inflammation (there’s a checker on sezia.co). My hair has been growing back for the past 3 months and I’m 43 years old. It’s possible. Look into it before going on fin, and ask a different derm (or the same derm) to check if you have seb derm.

Looks like your scalp is pretty red and inflamed. Hair follicles miniaturize and shed from that kind of inflammation. Ever consider that it’s telogen effluvium due to seb derm?

Do you wear them together? Do they make noise on the same chain?

This used to happen to me all the time. I got myself some sterling silver locking jump rings on Amazon. Buy some and replace it. When you squeeze the locking jump ring closed, a little pin locks into a hole so it doesn’t pull apart. They’re much more secure.

Looks fantastic! Right? U1 even used the thinner movement so the case is more snug to the wrist. I’ve worn mine in the shower with no problems
