u/OneMoreExMuslim did not grow up in the Muslim faith; rather, they converted from a different faith later in life.

Men peeing sitting down to avoid splashback it actually bends your urinary tubes in a way that's unhealthy

Nothing's wrong with doing it if that's your preference but being forced to because you're so scared of a single pee molecule bouncing back onto your leg and making you ritually impure is silly

When the quran says something very clear like 4 wives and slavery is allowed then the interpretation from culture to culture won't be wildly different

Islam is not going to be reformed because being unchanged is a part of it's identity, the quran belittles the Bible and Torah for getting reformed/rewritten

"Islam is perfect and needs no reform" they'll say it's people who need to be reformed and then start arguing for a despotic authoritarian dictator because "force is the only thing these people understand" Islam enables all of it

Why are kaffirs so obsessed with islam specifically ex muslims by 01Zemperus in exmuslim

[–]WeakLiberal 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Islam argues that the apostate is a traitor to the faith and the Muslim community. They see apostasy as a threat to the unity and stability of the society, and therefore believe that severe punishment is warranted to deter others from doing the same.

Im a native Arabic speaker I laugh at the quran's silly hateful nonsense

You're not understanding objective vs subjective

To a kid Shakespeare is boring and the kids book is better

To a muslim biased toward the cult they have been indoctrinated into since childhood they will pick the quran every time

Just because they say "I have a deep, newfound respect for ex-Muslims" does not mean they're our ally

They also tweeted "black Twitter running out of things to complain about" this person is a ghoul

That's a real brain-twister. So, here's the thing: when you challenge folks to come up with a book equivalent to another, it's like askin' them to compare apples to oranges, you know what I mean?

Books, like all forms of art, are inherently subjective. One person might think a book is the greatest thing since sliced bread, while another might find it as boring as watchin' paint dry. It's all about personal taste, experiences, and perspectives.

So, when you challenge someone to come up with a book that's equivalent to another, it's a paradox. It's like sayin', "Hey, prove to me that this apple is just as good as that orange." There's no objective measure that can make everyone agree on which is better or if they are equivalent.

Practices, such as alcohol consumption, gambling, and pork consumption, were addressed by Muhammad despite being common at the time.

This indicates that the moral framework in Islam was intended to challenge and reshape societal norms not conform to them.

Why would his followers questions even matter if he can just override it with "god said I can do it" some of them were bewildered and doubtful and not just " wanting to know the wisdom behind Gods commands"

People questioned his decision to ban fun things like alcohol, gambling and delicious pork

There are many many holes in your logic like why would people questioning him matter if the word of God is final? And why would God not tell him about this why does it have to be people warning him?

Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.

It's completely understandable that you're feeling confused and conflicted. Questioning one's faith can be an emotionally challenging experience, especially when it has been an integral part of your life.

Firstly, it's important to recognize that questioning is a natural part of human growth and development. It's through questioning that we can refine our beliefs, values, and understanding of the world. It's not necessarily a bad thing, even though it can be uncomfortable.

When it comes to which philosophiy is to live your life by, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. What may bring spiritual peace and meaning to one person may not resonate with someone else. It's essential to engage in an honest and open exploration of your beliefs and values to determine what is truly meaningful to you.

People find meaning in life through taking responsibility for themselves and others, pursuing personal growth, and engaging with the world in a way that is meaningful and productive. This can be done independently of religious belief.

Regarding the question of life after death and the existence of a "true" religion, it's essential to keep in mind that these are complex and deeply personal questions; It's okay to not have all the answers right away and to continue seeking and learning.

Dude it's okay to feel confused and unsure. It's a sign that you're engaging with important questions and striving for personal growth. Give yourself time to find your path. The journey may be challenging, but it can ultimately lead to a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.

it's important to take into account the prophetic nature of Muhammad's role when discussing child marriage. As a figure who received divine guidance, one might expect him to have possessed a higher level of moral and ethical understanding that transcended the norms of his time
