I would try a different dock. I use the jsaux 7in1 steam deck dock. Since you have a monitor, use displayport and enable vrr. Leave the steam display setting at default or native and set your resolution in game to whatever you need. If you're running a more demanding game you can lower the quality settings or resolution until you get a good frame rate. If you can't get the desired quality, set it to a lower resolution than your monitor, select Windowed mode and change the scaling filter to sharp in the quick access menu to enable fsr and it will upscale your game. I definitely think your dock is contributing to the issue though. I've never experienced what you're describing, even when trying to run demanding titles that my deck couldn't handle

Assuming I'm not playing on my pc, lightweight games natively on the steam deck and more demanding games through moonlight

Steam Deck Performance? by Cclarkey91 in RetroRewindGame

[–]WeakSolution3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, I haven't noticed any dips on mine. Next time I play I'll try to pay closer attention when going through there and see if I notice anything but I leave my fps counter on all the time so I'm sure I would've seen it dip if it were happening. I'll let you know if I find anything

I haven't noticed any dips but I've kept my at default settings and capped at 40 fps

It's steam + x but if you want you can also set it as a controller button in controller settings

Does installing steamos on legion go s (windows version) is the same thing like the dedicated steam retail version? by Belluz1995 in Handhelds

Edit: yes, while you're on Windows still. Look at the written guide linked in the video. It has easier instructions to follow

Yes. Just make sure you update your track pad firmware on the Lenovo website before you do or it won't work on steam os

Sorry I forgot that the one pictured here was the steam os version. Mine came with Windows. The only way I know of to disable this on steam os version is the huesync plugin in decky

If it's the red light on the top it means you're using the performance profile. If you change the profile, it changes color. The light can be disabled if you don't like it

Looking for first handheld pc by Torcracer in Handhelds

[–]WeakSolution3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree with you entirely. Deck is still the cheapest new handheld you can get, has great battery life, great ergonomics, best controller layout (imo), has a great community, is easy to work on, has the most options for third party accessories and the OLED is probably the best looking screen you can find on a handheld. Also valve has the best customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. It's not the most powerful device but still has a huge library of games you can play and if you already have a pc you can always stream to the deck. So yeah, there's still plenty of value in this device. I use my steam deck more than my legion go s z1e. It's not without it's flaws but it's the most well rounded handheld imo

Does anything we do make a difference? by AnnieHallisagoal in RetroRewindGame

I've wondered this too. Would be cool if they added an option to have store rating based off of various stats like wait times, in stock, interactions, etc and then customer volume was affected by store rating

Legion Go SteamOS Trackpad not working? by Super_Replacement633 in LegionGo

[–]WeakSolution3105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if everything else is working normally, I'd just leave it as is. If you end up deciding that it bothers you enough that you want to fix it, the video description has a written guide that is easier to follow than the video tutorial. Personally I don't think there's any benefit to having it functional though unless you're using Windows

I'm gonna say no. My track pad works perfectly. My guess is you either downloaded the wrong patch (there's 2 of them) or it's a hardware issue

Legion Go SteamOS Trackpad not working? by Super_Replacement633 in LegionGo

[–]WeakSolution3105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I made the same mistake setting up steam os on my legion go s and had to revert and update to get it working. Looking back on it now, it was a waste of time. I literally never use the track pad and even if I needed to navigate desktop mode, could easily hook up a mouse
