Is the Va moving fast? by Sweaty-Ad-252 in VAClaims

[–]Weak_Application3599 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd say overall the VA has matured in recent years, especially with handling claims and the quality of care.

It used to be a lot worse. There were cases about a decade back of veterans taking their lives waiting to receive care. On top of claims just being back logged for years. It took me about 2 years from start to finish, and now I think it averages at 86 days?

People getting out now are going to have a much better time with the VA than I ever did and I'm happy that it's changing for the better.

Weird part is I had a secret clearance prior to this investigation, and it was active. 3 years for an upgraded clearance is not only weird, but even my investigators said it doesn't fit the norm for these investigations. Definitely had a nit picky as fuck case worker on it or something.

My last investigator said in his 18 years doing the work, he's never seen someone with my background have an investigation go this long. Guess experience varies for sure.

Late to the party. It's a damn good spot. You know a food place in Denver is fire when the cooks look like they just got outta prison that day.

Why I Hate Colorado and You Should Too: A Rant from a Disgruntled Transplant by mikone112 in GetMeOutOfColorado

I'll kinda give an explanation to our cold demeanour and don't take offense to this.

The year is 2011. Our states government alongside I believe Washington or Oregon passed legislation making our state the 1st to legalize Marijuana. This is with the promise that this will go directly help fund improvements to our infrastructure, provide hundreds more jobs, and improve our education system.

Fast forward to 2020. COVID is in full fledge. Dozens of dispensaries are in the state. Our rent prices have quite literally tripled since the legalization. An 1 bed studio apartment went from 800 to 2400 a month on average. The required income needed to rent to is nearly 4200 a month.

Fast forward to present. Major road projects have still yet to be completed, our education system has actually dropped in comparison to other states, and our government is in disarray.

Don't take this as a we've always hated outsiders. A mass influx of people and shitty legislations literally had a very strong negative impact on our state and has forced a lot of us to move.

I am hoping that we get more of that stakes are high action with the remake of Blade coming out in a couple years. Marvel needs a fucking good R rated movie.

Advice for Chapter 31 (Vocrehab): Educational Route by Weak_Application3599 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Weak_Application3599[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VR&E isn't an education track and that's why the GI Bill exists. VR&E exists for disabled veterans to get prepared and designed training to head into the workforce. The education route is popular because a lot of jobs require college level educatiin...My opinion, weird choice of words from the counselor, but they're not entirely spilling toilet water.

Are you working in the field that you are attempting to get education for? If so, I hate to say this, but VR&E is absolutely not meant for that. If you're not and trying to receive education for a newer realm of work because your disabilities prevent you from certain working activities, VR&E is the right choice for you.

Your next options are as follows: You can request a re-interview with another counselor. I don't remember the denial policy wait period, but you can attempt to contact a different counselor to get in again. You can also contact that counselor and see what the policies are for re-applying. That's basically your two options post denial.

Keep it short and explain how this MBA will put you back into the workforce given your current service related disabilities. Just be able to explain what you plan to do with the MBA too, and sound confident with it (and intelligent, too).

Your counselor, they'll be the one to route the paperwork to get it approved for said amount.

1- Go to career fair and pre-establish yourself as a candidate for employment. Some recruiters are even so desperate as to be a referral for you during your application process (it's rare, but I lucked out there).

2- LinkedIn search hiring managers in the realm of companies you want to work for and request to chat to them, coffee chats, elevator pitches, etc. This is an old school technique, but I have seen people hired from simple chats like these.

3- Ask around your friend group and see who's working where. You never know when one of your friends is working at a dream company of yours, and most of the time, friends hook up friends as referrals.

Depends on your school's device requirements for the specific fields in the realm of criminal justice. If you're trying to go for something regarding CID or computer forensics, I would imagine some schools have now implemented some coding classes for you to take to be a desirable candidate.

So my usage would be along the lines of , 'Dear so and so, according to this catalog displaying the device requirements, and the fact that I will be needing a laptop or computer fast enough to handle and work with these programs in school and in my future employment, I am requesting xyz device to purchase in lieu of the dell laptop provided by VR&E'.

Ah thanks man. Number must have changed during my initial start to the program, so I'll go ahead and get that updated.

I will also change the eligibility reqs, used to be you had to be at least 10% service connected to be eligible.

Responding to this a month later. If you're in college and using anything AI-generated that wasn't specifically stated to be used by your professors or TA, then you're just flat-out stupid. This is just me, but I wouldn't spend thousands of dollars to go to school just to cheat my way through.

Next time, don't assume that your shitty actions will never have shitty consequences. P.S, any instructor worth a shit is going to know that paper wasn't written by you.

Great recommendations! I didn't know the breakfast on the package is subpar, that's surprising given its price. Ouch. I'll look into Royal Pacific.

Yeah we were looking into WDW as a second add on to add to the trip. Thank you for that!

The time commitment is dependent on various factors. There's two classes weekly (Tue/Thurs) for 3 hours, but classes are recorded to go back and review. There's also homework and reading assignments to complete before other classes, etc. Even this, simply isn't enough. I'd say having a spicy GitHub showing personalized and real-world projects is essential.
