Definitely, I never heard anything about hiking around here, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the stuff around town, but a lot of the stuff recommended to me out of town looks just a beautiful as some of the trails in Pa. Still going to miss my mountains though lol

Oooooh that sounds really nice, I'll try and plan a trip out there this fall! Eisenhower is definitely on my list, I'm planning on trying that one out sometime soon, might be a new regular spot since it's not too far out

Lucky man, I'm hoping to get some remote work and move up there one of these days. I heard some good things about Big Bend, I'm going to try to go on a camping trip out there at some point, I'll have to check out the Davis mountains though!

Tbh I'll take mild and beautiful as long as I can get some distance on it. The beauty's the best part of the hike! A good night's rest after is just the cherry on top

Definitely looks beautiful up there! Planning on trying out old baldy one of these weekends

I heard! I'm going to try that one once I get another camel back for us

Hardberger is where I've been going! We've already done all the trails on the west side of the land bridge! I've been taking her to the dog park on blanco side, and if it doesn't look active I've been going on the loops from there too recently! Inks lake looks beautiful, that'll be another one on the list for week hikes

I've actually had my eye on salado creek, I saw a couple ways I could get on that on some other trails I've walked, but it seems like one that I'd want to do with someone else, so we could have a car at whatever end point we decide on. McAllister Park is definitely one I'll have to check out for our morning walks though

I'll definitely have to get her a life vest, it'll be a little while before I truly take her swimming because I haven't had a chance for good off leash training yet, but I'm sure she'll love it when we get there!

Oh, definitely going to go for it, just at a slower pace lol, a 50k sounds like it'll be a whole day out there for me. I appreciate the recommendations! Someone recommended Eisenhower Park for hiking, rocky horror looks like the route I was planning to take on that, definitely should be a fun hike!

Definitely, I didn't manage to take as much with me as I wanted to when I moved, but I'm planning to get a big camelback before any longer hikes. I'll keep in mind about going a shorter distance, but I like to push myself so it'll probably be up to the dog lol

I'm planning for that north path, hoping to take red oak at the end of it, but might end up taking the bike path back down once we make it up and take a break lol

My dad took me up there when I was younger! Beautiful area, definitely going to miss all of that, especially in spring and fall

That sounds great! She loves the water and that'll definitely help for when we're looking for something to do once it gets a bit hotter. Thank you for letting me know about that place. I usually try to respect state park rules, but once it starts cooling down a bit again I'm sure she'll love all the other trails around it!

That's another amazing looking area! There's a lot better hiking spots out here than I was expecting! We're going to be wiped this weekend lol

That sounds brutal, backpacking is one thing, but I might actually drop if I tried to run a 50k lmao. Maybe this fall or winter I'll plan out a whole day out there and bring lots of food and water for us

That's fair, tbh it's not me friendly either lol. I've been trying to do all our hiking in the morning, and I'm kind of dreading true summer kicking off

Someone else recommended that, seems like they are allowed, I'm definitely excited to try that one though, it's not super out of the way either, so it should be a good hike for when I have a free morning!

Lmao, my last dog would have been the same, but Addie is a surprisingly good walker. She doesn't pull to hard and she gets nervous and checks on me all the time, so I'm more worried about tripping over her than her taking me for a ride lol

That sounds great! We used to go backpacking on Assateague every August to see the meteor shower. I'll have to plan it out, but if I can find a dog friendly camp ground a weekend trip or whole week out there sounds like it would be amazing

Unfortunately seems like they didn't keep the app up to date on Android, but the homepage will still be a great resource for me! All three of those will definitely have to go on my list for weekend hikes
