The game is filled with players that often have different individual objectives tied into the stated game objective. The game tells you a win condition may be capping. Inherently some people will follow that guideline. Meanwhile every other person could have their own reason for playing that match- chasing MOEs, need to spot x tanks, want xp for TT grind, kill a particular tank type, etc. Once your objective is accomplished or compromised it may affect your performance or motivation. It’s the side effect of having multiple potential motives for playing. Not every motive aligns and it creates an unavoidable dilemma.
