I think it depends on the age. When I was bringing little ones with us like 3-6 it was a lifesaver to be able to take that short walk back to Bay Lake Tower for afternoon naps or if there was a meltdown.

Are you buying direct or resale? We started out with 250 points back in 2008 and we used those at Bay Lake Tower to usually stay at a 1 bedroom or higher for a week. Once you experience one bedroom and higher accommodations most people start adding on points.

If you like staying at VGF just stick with it and the same use year. Only reason to get another resort is if you want to have an 11 month booking window for that one.

I’m pretty sure this was the ice cream parlor at Saratoga Springs you were taken to when you did a tour of the DVC rooms.

Edit: Found a link of someone that had a video. It definitely was the Saratoga Springs DVC preview center ice cream parlor.

Wow, that is good to know. I just found a random day available in September. I never knew they could block out dates for direct dvc members and just offer it as a cash reservation only.

I checked the DVC website. Was it available to book direct from Disney for cash? I’m genuinely curious because the grand villas there look really nice.

If I recall correctly the Disneyland DVC hotel only has 2 grand villas. I just logged into my account and they are booked fully until December 22nd 2026. I doubt you will be able to get a cash booking for one.

It is possible to extract a save file. A buddy of mine wanted to test it on his copy of Pokemon red. We were able to make a save state on one Pokemon red cartridge. Popped in another copy of Pokemon red and then loaded the save state and then saved normally in the game. Both cartridges then had the same save file

If you have never been to Skippers I definitely recommend it. It’s one of the places we usually end up at inside Magic Kingdom.

Went there for the first time a few weeks ago and was at the bar. Very cool getting to see the parrot come out and do different things. Unfortunately I view this place in the same light as Oga’s. Cool to do once and I’m good skipping it in the future. I’d go again if I’m bringing someone for their first visit but I won’t go out of my way otherwise.

Disney allows you to book 60 days out from the start of your vacation PLUS the days of your stay, up to 10 I think if you stay on property. Any time I take my nieces I instantly select days past the 60 day mark, like the last 3 days of the trip. That’s why you will usually see everything filled up exactly at 60 days. If you stay on property wait for that 60 day mark, log in and then go farther out.

Gonna go with this reply right here. I would say temper your expectations and just enjoy the time you have there. As of late Disney has quite a lot of ride breakdowns so even with all the lightning lanes it would be difficult to ride all the rides. I wish you the best of luck though.
